It’s the final day of The Digital Dozen’s Throwback week – I’ve made it! I’ve had a very busy week and I wasn’t sure I’d get this last post done on time, but it’s here, and I also really love today’s nail art! In case you’ve missed my other posts this week, I decided to interpret the Throwback theme by recreating past nail art looks done in Digital Dozen theme weeks by other Digital Dozen members. So far this week, I’ve done poison dart frog nails inspired by Manis & Makeovers, LOVE nails inspired by 25 Sweetpeas, a spacey water marble inspired by Copycat Claws, and dragon eye nails inspired by More Nail Polish. Although I’ve liked every one of those looks, today’s is my favourite for the week!
Today’s look is inspired by this dotted look done by Kristi of Let’s Begin Nails back in Continents week. She was in turn inspired by a Columbian artist, Omar Chacon. I really loved the effect that she achieved with multiple layered dots, so I was excited to try my own version.
Zoya Cam, Dory, Hunter, Ireland and Aster;
Sinful Colors Pink Smart and Endless Blue;
Tip Top We Have An Agreen Mint, Supermoon Now I’m Gonna Eat You, Fool!, Essence Grey-t To Be Here, and Sally Hansen Cherry, Cherry, Bang, Bang!.
I started off with large dots, alternating through all of the colours, until the whole surface of my nails was covered. I then went back in with each of the polishes again, using smaller dotting tools to layer the dots. I did wait for quite a long time before adding top coat, but clearly, not long enough! All of those layers of dots became pretty thick and I unfortunately managed to smear it a little with my top coat. I don’t think it ruins the look, though – it is still incredibly pretty and I feel like I should try this with different colour combinations!
