How about dialling up the glitter a little bit for today’s edition of The Digital Dozen does all that glitters? In fact, I’m going to be bold here and say that this is probably the most glittery look of the whole week, from all of the Digital Dozen members put together. As I’m writing this post up, it’s Sunday evening, and nobody has posted for this theme yet… so I almost hope someone proves me wrong. I doubt it, though! I’m honestly not sure what it would take to get more glitter into a nail art look than this:
I had so much fun with my metal-dipped nails from the futuristic theme in November, I decided to do another wildly impractical dipped look, this time of course using ridiculous amounts of glitter.
This one was actually a lot easier to do than my metal-dipped look, since I didn’t need to use gel to stick the glitter to my fingers. I started off my painting a coat of liquid latex all over my fingers and nails, so that I could just easily peel everything off after I was finished. I then brushed on some Elmer’s glue on a few sections at a time, and poured on each colour of glitter one at a time.
I have quite a lot of glitter sitting in my nail art drawer, and it rarely gets used, so it was fun to finally get some use out of it! I really liked the one I used on my actual nails, which had a purple/turquoise shift to it. At first I just had that on my nails, but it looked a little plain, so I added the whitish spots. I kind of like them but I also kind of wonder if I should have just left it with the plain purple/turquoise.
As soon as I’d finished applying the glitter, I took photos, then peeled it off again. This would obviously be impractical to wear, and I just did it for fun. I’m also pretty sure that if I’d have kept it on for even a few minutes, I’d have been shedding glitter like mad.
What do you think of this extreme glitter nail art?
