It’s the final day of The Digital Dozen does All that Glitters – can you believe it? I’ve really enjoyed this theme – it allowed me to go a little crazy with over-the-top glittery looks. So far this week, I shared some glittering crystals, a glittery drip marble, glitter-dipped fingers, and a fun glitter gradient. Today I’ve gone for all-over glitter again with some glitter placement! I knew I had to do this for one day ever since we decided on this theme, and I decided to save it for the very end.
I have done glitter placement before – in solid gold, opalescent yellow, and my personal favourite, a mermaidy iridescent look. I’ve also played around with different glitter shapes a couple of times, once using diamond glitters to make floating cubes, and just the other day I posted an even more mermaidy look with some new glitter.
This time, I went back to hex glitters, but there was a twist! Rather than using just one colour, this was a combination of gold, silver, translucent orange, and translucent white hexes.
I started with a base of Darling Diva The Hot Kitsune. I then used a coat of foil glue to apply the glitter to. Foil glue works great for glitter placement – no trying to hurriedly stick glitters to tacky polish before it’s fully dry. The only downside it that you can’t make those fine mm-scale adjustments to the glitter once it’s stuck – but, I think it’s good enough until you get in too ridiculously close!
Just look at how it sparkles!
