Happy New Year!
What better way to start off 2018 than with some fun nail art? If you stayed up to celebrate the coming of the new year last night, you might have looked up, or out a window, and seen some stars. It was freezing here so I stayed cozy inside, but I did the the stunning full moon.
See? A gorgeous night sky, packed with simmering stars, perfect to enjoy while you’re nice and cozy and safe… Or are you? What was that?
Eek, what’s lurking in the darkness?
These were a lot of fun to create and I enjoyed wearing them, too! I kept flipping my nails over to see both sides. The last time I did a ‘hidden’ nail art look was over 2 years ago, when I did these secret garden nails.
To get this look, I started off with a base of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Luminous Matter, which by the way is stunning and is probably one of my favourite polishes ever. If you don’t have it yet, you need it! I had an idea to do some glow-in-the-dark stars, but they didn’t work out, so I went with glitter instead. A mix of silver and iridescent hexes, and of course the golden stars!
On the underside of my nails, I painted a black base using acrylic paint. I decided acrylic would be easier to work with to avoid getting polish everywhere. I did use polish for the eyes – a yellow and an orange neon that I made myself. I applied them using a dotting tool and then finished them off with black dots. I thought this was such a cool look! I will need to brainstorm more hidden nail art ideas!
I have a few fun ideas for the blog this year and I hope you will enjoy them! What great plans do you have for the year?
