The polish in this post was provided for my honest review.
It’s almost time for the March Polish Pickup to start! Can you believe it’s already March? The sale with plenty of book-themed polishes available is starting tomorrow. Today, I have a swatch of one more polish you probably need to add to your wishlist! This is Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Because of My Character.
Because of My Character is inspired by the book The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead. Its official description is a silver ultra holographic with 3 sizes of holo pigment, silver ultra holo glitter, cyan/indigo aurora shifting pigment, purple/copper/green aurora shifting pigment, platinum micro flakes, blue/green/gold shifting flakes, and fuchsia/copper/lime shifting flakes.
Because of My Character is shown here in two coats with top coat. For me, the colour shifting flakies made this polish. They break up the silver just the right amount and I like the light splashes of colour they add! The silver itself is already pretty great – it’s like bling in a bottle!
The holo didn’t come across all that well in my pictures, but it’s there, and you’ll be blinded in the sun. Take a look at The Polished Hippy’s post to see a couple of shots showcasing the holo effect more than I was able to.
Look at everything going on in that macro! I am crazy about those flakies! I found the formula on this polish just a tad on the thick side, and it wasn’t the best at self-levelling; however, it was perfectly fine with just a regular top coat, and Julie has said that she’ll adjust the formula slightly to combat any issues with thickness.
Basically, this polish is all you’ll ever need to feel very, very fancy. It will be available in the Polish Pickup store starting tomorrow, and will be capped at 200 bottles. It will be priced at $14 per bottle, which makes perfect sense given the insane amount of silver, holo, shifting pigment, and flakies it contains!
I think I am going to get a lot of use out of this polish as it will make an excellent base for nail art. Do you plan on picking this one up?
