Hi everyone!
It’s Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is Inspired by Each Other. We were originally going to do something a bit different for the month of May, a rotation week where we’d each do a guest post on a different member’s blog each day of DD week, but sadly that didn’t work out, so inspired by each other it is. For my first look of the week, I’ve done an abstract floral inspired by this look by Marisa of Polish those Nails.
Marisa has a gift for making patterns look effortless – she creates so many nail looks that would be perfect as a print on clothing, or the kind of modern art you’d see hanging in an office. Whenever I try to create something like this, I feel like it looks messy, but she just has this ability to avoid that messy look and have it look artistic instead.
To get this look, I started with a base of Zoya Misty. I added a coat of Godiva to add a little glitter, and then a nice thick top coat to smooth it out since Godiva is a textured polish. I used acrylic paints to paint the abstract flowers following the pattern Marisa did in her look.
This isn’t the type of colour combination I’d usually be drawn to, but I think it looks really cool! That’s one of the fun things about doing inspired looks – you get to try some new ideas and combinations that you may not put together otherwise.
I really enjoyed the simplicity of this look. Just two colours, relatively simple shapes and patterns, but it gets that floral idea across. Perfect for Spring!
