Cherry Blossoms | The Digital Dozen Does Inspired by Each Other

Hi everyone!

I’m back with a final very late addition to the Digital Dozen’s Inspired by Each Other theme. For today’s look, I was inspired by this pretty cherry blossom look by The Polished Koi. The blue gradient she did really drew me in, and the cherry blossoms finished me off!

It’s appropriate that I used Blue-Eyed Girl’s birthday polish from last year, since it was just their birthday again and the brand has turned 5! In fact, there is a big birthday sale coming up along with some new releases later this week – you might want to join the Facebook fan group to make sure you don’t miss out on anything.

For the cherry blossom trees and distant little bridge, I used acrylic paints. I hadn’t realised my cherry blossoms had ended up to be such a cool purple rather than the magenta I had in mind, but although this may be less realistic, I really like the effect against the blue base.

I finished off the look with a matte top coat, because the already pretty great gradient looked even better mattified. I’m so glad I thought to use these two BEGLs together! Painted Fingertips | Cherry Tree Gradient inspired by The Polished Koi - macro
