Hello everyone! My name is Katie Marie and Kerry and I are doing a blog collab swap! So basically, if you are interested in seeing a fun summer-themed nail tutorial…visit my blog HERE and Kerry will be sharing her usual (totally awesome and perfect) nail tutorial. But if you are down to learning how to create a fun summer sunset inspired eyeshadow look…well, that’s what I am here for! Just keep reading and we’ll be getting right into it shortly!
But before we get into it, I did want to introduce myself very briefly! As I said, my name is Katie Marie and I consider myself to be an avid makeup enthusiast and product reviewer. I run the website From My Vanity, have a Youtube channel, and try to stay as active as I can on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. If you want to check me out on any of my social media outlets or my Youtube…everything is linked for your ease! 🙂
Summer Sunset Eye Makeup Tutorial
As you probably already know from the first picture and the title…we are going to be using the Colourpop My Little Pony palette to create this summer sunset makeup look. I know this is limited edition, but since the colors aren’t too unique…I hope you’re able to dupe the colors within your own makeup collection if it finally goes out of stock. If you need any help duping, Temptalia talks through each shade in the palette and shares dupe shades.
But anyways, let’s get into the tutorial! Please refer to this picture of the shade names in the Colourpop My Little Pony palette as I walk through the steps to create this look!
Step 1 || Gotta start off with eyeshadow primer — it really helps to make your look last longer and the colors show up better. Here I am using Covergirl’s Lid Lock Up.
Step 2 || With the shade Butterscotch, apply that to the browbone and blend downward into your crease. Be careful not to come all the way down onto your lid — you want that to stay tacky from the primer.
Step 3 || Take Applejack on a big fluffy blending brush and take it all the way through the crease and really blend it out.
Step 4 || Now on a bit narrower of a blending brush, take a bit of Flutterbye right at the line where Butterscotch and Applejack meet. Blend until it looks like a seamless blend.
Step 5 || Now with a flat eyeshadow brush take the shade Starshine and apply that all on the mobile lid area. Stopping just before that outer edge. Feel free to spritz your brush with Fix+ if you want to intensify the shimmer. I did not in this tutorial.
Step 6 || On a more pointed blending brush, take Minty and blend this into the outer corner and up into the crease.
Step 7 || Using the IT Cosmetics SuperHero Liner, I lined my eyes and did a wing.
Step 8 || Apply mascara to your top lashes — I used the Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara. Love that stuff! It helped that I invest in my lashes day to day anyway, which created a great base from which to work. I use Xlash to thicken and lengthen them so the mascara simply gave them a little extra boost.
Step 9 || Take the shade Minty and blend that onto your lower lash line, making sure to connect it up into your outer corner on the top to make it all seamless and smooth!
Step 10 || Apply mascara to your lower lashes. I used the Smashbox SuperFan mascara. Which is fantastic for my tiny baby lashes…but overall I wouldn’t recommend it because it smudges/smears throughout the day.
Step 11 || Line your waterline with a red-ish gel liner. I used NYX FauxBlacks in Oxblood.
Step 12 || Don’t forget about the inner corner! I used the shade Bluebell to bring a sparkle to that area.
And there you have it — that is my take on a summer sunset inspired makeup tutorial using the Colourpop My Little Pony palette! What do you think? I’d love to hear if you have this palette and plan to try it out!
I am so thankful Kerry asked to do this blog swap/collab with me — I haven’t shared a pictorial in a while! Make sure you visit my blog today to see the summer-inspired nail tutorial that Kerry put together for this collab. 😀

Thank you so much, Katie, for that gorgeous look and for visiting today! I never really use peachy eyeshadow, but Katie’s look has me wanting to try it.
