The polish in this post was provided for my honest review.
Can you believe it’s June already? June’s Polish Pickup sale is already on the go. If you haven’t picked up Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer’s Welcome to the Coast yet, you might want to go visit the PPU shop – but first, check out my swatches below:
This month’s Polish Pickup theme is video games. Welcome to the Coast is inspired by the Costa Del Sol zone in Final Fantasy XIV. You can find a gif showing the inspiration here. I’m not much of a gamer, but I think that was a really cool scene to pick as inspiration and I love the resulting polish!
In real life, this polish is just a smidge greener/more turquoise than my images have captured. It is gorgeous and dare I say it’s in at least my top 5 BEGLs that I own? Here, I am showing 2 coats with top coat. The formula on this polish is perfection – exactly the right thickness, and all the shimmer goes on easily and evenly.
This polish is described as a bright aqua with fine copper shimmer, copper and aqua sparking shimmers, green microflakies, and bronze to green aurora shifting shimmer. I’m a huge fan of copper/bronze shimmers, especially in a turquoisey base so I definitely found this to be a winning combination. I see some flashes that I’d describe as more reddish, which I think are probably the bronze shifts. It’s packed with just the perfect amount of shimmer!
I’m already considering what nail art to do over this base. It’s too lovely not to use for some art as well.
Just look at all that shimmer! This polish is really packed with it. Turquoise is one of my favourite colours so maybe I’m a little biased – but I think this must be one of the best polishes in this month’s PPU. Don’t forget, they do combine shipping, so even if you’ve already made a purchase you can still go back for this one!
Welcome to the Coast is priced at $12 and is not capped. It is available here until the evening of June 4th.
Do you plan on getting this polish? Have you played Final Fantasy XIV that inspired it?
