It’s day 3 of the Digital Dozen does white, and as you can see, I’ve done something really different for today’s look. As I was listing off things that are white to brainstorm nail art ideas for this week, one of the things I noted down was soap bubbles. At first, I wanted to paint individual bubbles, similar to the water drops I did in this look. However, I soon realised that these are more rainbow than white. I felt sure there must be a way to get a foaming soap bubble look, and some searching led me to this tutorial on Brijit’s Digits.
Doesn’t it look cool? Just like some murky dishwater! To get this look, I started with a base of Anchor & Heart Rhyme & Reason, which I thought would be a good grey-blue base, although it was mostly covered up. I diluted some white acrylic paint and mixed it with dish soap, then blew bubbles in it through I straw. I scooped up bubbles and applied some on each nail. At first, I had a hard time getting the actual foam look on my nails and got the translucent whitish areas you see on a couple of nails. I decided to add a little blue as well so that the white bubbles wouldn’t just become a blur. Fortunately, I then managed to get the bubbled look to work with the second layer of white I applied.
Doesn’t it look cool? It’s such a unique nail art style – and with the white bubbles, it’s perfect for this week’s theme.
Washing dishes is one of my least favourite chores – thankfully my husband usually does them!
What do you think? Would you wear nail art in this style?
