It’s day 3 of the Digital Dozen’s tropical week, and it’s also Water Marble Wednesday! So far this week, I’ve shared a tropical floral look and some pineapple nails. I stuck with the tropical fruits today with a watermelon water marble. I’m glad I figured out a way to do a water marble for the tropical theme, it’s always fun to figure out ways to make water marbles work for a specific theme. I’ve seen several other watermelon water marbles before but it’s the first time I’ve tried to do a watermelon.
To get this look, I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White to help the marbled colours to pop. I then created the watermelon slices by making 2 water marble bullseyes at once, one green and one pinkish. I made patterns in each marble separately while trying to draw the two close together so I could just dip each nail once. The polishes I used were Fancy Gloss Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Baroness X Go Through Fire, CND Vinylux Lobster Roll, some more Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Zoya Hunter, and Sinful Colors Kameleon.
I finished the look off with some black acrylic paint to represent the watermelon seeds. I’m glad I finally did a watermelon water marble! Doing 2 marbles per nail with completely different colours in each is also fun, I’m sure there are some interesting looks and colour combinations I could come up with doing this.
