The polishes in this post were provided for my honest review.
Hi everyone!
If you’re thinking – ‘I thought Polish Con Minneapolis was over’, well, you’re right, but I still have some late swatches to share with you. With the almost 40 polishes that I already shared with you leading up to Polish Con, with exclusives and limited edition shades from many different brands, I didn’t quite have time to share my swatches from Ever After Polish. I have them to show you today, and don’t worry, most of these are still available in limited numbers on the Ever After website.
I’ll start off with the shade I actually wore on the day of Polish Con – Ever After #minneapolish.
I didn’t give much thought to what I’d wear on my nails to Polish Con – because I was swatching for the event, I needed to just wear whichever polish I got on my nails the night before. I did at least put in the effort to have the same shade on both hands! And fortunately, #minneapolish was the perfect choice.
#minneapolish is a fuchsia base with iridescent teal-purple-magenta flakies, purple-green colour shifting shimmer, and holo effect. The official description of this shade is a dusty pink creme with pink-violet shimmer and purple-pink leaning iridescent crystal flakes, with just a hint of holo.
Isn’t that pretty? This was listed as an event exclusive, but it looks like it is now listed on the Ever After site, so there may have been some overpour.
Aren’t those little flakes pretty? The formula on this shade was great, although with all the flakes and shimmer, it needed three coats for full opacity. Here I am showing three coats of #minneapolish plus top coat. This is such a pretty colour – I love how it’s just slightly dusty – and it got me several compliments at Polish Con.
I just loved the name of this polish – since I blog about nail polish and I’m always typing those words, I’ve found myself typing Minneapolish rather than Minneapolis many times. It’s the perfect combination between this city and our shared hobby!
Next up, we have Land of 10,000 Lakes. This was listed as the VIP Polish, so many lucky VIPs probably have it already, but if you missed out, this one is also still listed on the Ever After site.
I really loved this one – it’s such a good teal! This is a gorgeous teal holo with blue-green flakes and vermilion shimmer. The official description is an aqua jelly holo with cyan violet UCC flakes and red orange fire shimmer.
I hated that I had to take this one straight back off after photographing it to get more swatches done. I really need to get it on my nails again soon!
I was very happy with the formula on this shade. Here I am showing two easy coats plus top coat.
Honestly, this one was probably my favourite of Ever After’s offerings. I’m a sucker for a good teal polish, and this is a good one for sure.
Next I have the hotel guest exclusive, Party at the Marriot.
This is the one polish that is not listed on the website, and was intended only for guests who stayed at the Marriott hotel for Polish Con, so unfortunately it will likely be impossible to get a hold of at this point.
If you really do love it, you could turn to the Polish Con Facebook group and see if you can convince anyone that did get this pretty polish to swap or sell it.
Party at the Marriott is a bronze base jam-packed with bronze microflakies and green-to-copper shifting flakies. The official description is a russet brown crelly with green-pink UCC flakes, rose gold microflakes, bronze, copper and gold holo and copper flecks with copper glitter. It’s definitely packed with lots of coppery goodness!
The crelly base is sheer enough to let the flakies really shine, and needed 3 coats for opacity. Here I am showing 3 easy coats with top coat.
This was definitely a nice incentive for those that were travelling to the Con to stay at the hotel and join in a little extra fun! It’s a gorgeous polish!
So those were the VIP and exclusive shades – next up we have three limited edition polishes.
I’ll start off with the purple holo called You Betcha!
You Betcha is a dusty purple holo. The official description is a deep dusty lilac mega holo with silver flecks and pewter holo.
For some reason, I was a little underwhelmed by this polish. I think maybe it was all the flakies in all the other shades – this purer holo didn’t have as much going on. Or maybe even though I love purples, dusty shades, and holo, the combination isn’t quite my taste. It is a beautiful shade, though; I just wasn’t feeling it quite as much as the others.
Here I am showing two lovely coats of You Betcha! with top coat.
I do think this would make a lovely base for some nail art, perhaps some simple stamping!
Next up is a rich gold, Doncha Know!
Doncha Know! is a metallic gold base packed with gold, bronze, and magenta flakes, and a splash of holo. The official description is an antique gold, aluminum glitter with metallic gold flakes and pink-gold UCC flakes.
Wow – now that’s a GOLD! This is a stunning, vibrant shade with just the right amount of flakes to break up the pure gold a little.
I forgot to record how many coats I used in this swatch, but it was either two or three coats plus top coat.
I’ve always preferred silvery shades over golds, but this is one gold I’d definitely wear for a glamorous special occasion!
I love it even more close up!
Last but not least, we have a vibrant, fiery red, Skol!.
Skol! is a deep red jelly with vibrant orange-red flakes and tiny gold glitters. The official description is a deep crimson jelly with bronze-copper flecks, gold holo, and red-copper UCC flakes.
I was surprised by how much I loved this shade. Me and red polish aren’t always the best of friends and I wasn’t at all sure about the large flakes in the bottle. On the nail, though, this is such a fierce shade that I couldn’t help admitting that I love it.
I love those orange highlights that come out at angles like that!
Look at how squishy this shade is! Here I am showing three coats of Skol! with top coat.
I think this one and Land of 10,000 Lakes are my two favourites from the Ever After Polish shades.
If you still want to try to pick up any of these shades, check out the Ever After website!
Which of these do you like best?
