The polishes in this post were provided for my honest review.
Today I have something that you will definitely not want to miss out on if you are attending the Minneapolis Polish Con – The Minnesota Nice box! Four local Minnesota brands came together to create this special box with four MN-themed polishes. Three of the four brands will also be vending at the Con so you can enjoy even more of their creations! Every one of the polishes in this box is gorgeous. I really feel like you can’t go wrong with it! If I were you I’d head over to one of these tables first thing to grab this box.
I’m going to start off with the contribution from Darling Diva Polish. Darling Diva has been a little quiet lately, but it seems like Carrie is starting to gear things up again. She’s started participating in Polish Pickup over the past couple of months, and she just announced that she’ll be debuting a new collection at Polish Con. I don’t know if she’s planning other exclusives, but she has one gorgeous purple in the Minnesota Nice box.
Darling Diva SKOL! is purple with a strong holographic effect and packed with holographic microflakies. You know I love a good purple, and I know that Darling Diva knows how to make their purples good, so this one was a winner for me.
Here I am showing two coats of SKOL! with top coat. Darling Diva polishes always tend to be a little on the thick side for me, although I know that some people prefer that. It was still easy to work with and gorgeous in two coats. Look at that macro and try to tell me with a straight face that you don’t need this polish! All those little microflakes look incredible, and it’s the perfect shade of purple! Next up, we have a lovely blue from Leesha’s Lacquer.
Look at that gold shimmer! It’s like the sun reflecting off one of Minnesota’s gorgeous lakes. Leesha’s Lacquer Land of 10,000 is a slightly turquoise blue with strong gold shimmer and a holographic finish. The official description is a turquoise lake blue with a strong gold shift and a smattering of holo, reminiscent of a sunset off of any of our 11,842 lakes. Here I am showing two coats of Land of 10,000 with top coat. Formula was good and easy to work with. It did look like it was going to be a little frosty and brushstrokey, but that disappeared as it dried down.
In case you missed it, I posted about the official Leesha’s Lacquer event exclusive plus their half of a fun limited edition duo here. Look at those little sparkles! Next up, we have another beauty from Fair Maiden Polish: Hotdish just as it was intended: A glorious, comforting mix of everything.
This polish took my breath away. Between this and the event exclusive from Fair Maiden, they’ve got me convinced that I need more of their polish in my life. Fair Maiden Hotdish is a light blue to lavender to sometimes a greenish tone shifting base with purple-gold-blue shifting flakies and a holographic finish. The official description is a blue/violet multi-chrome that shifts magenta-gold-green, holo sparkle and iridescent chameleon flakes in pink-blue-gold-green-violet.Here I am showing two perfect coats of Hotdish, plus top coat. Between the unique shift of this polish and the shift of its flakies, Hotdish really is a thing of beauty. Last but not least, we have Northern Star Polish Uff Da.
Are you convinced that you need this box yet?Uff Da is the kind of red even I can love: dark and deep and shimmery and complex. Here I am showing 2 easy coats with top coat. The fomula on this shade was phenomenal! That macro is a perfect reminder of everything I love about Northern Star Polish!
The Minnesota Nice box will be available at Polish Con for $32 for the set of four polishes. So – you’re basically getting four gorgeous polishes at the price you’d usually pay for three! They will packaged together with a little MN charm bracelet. Any leftovers will be sold online after the show, but I’d be surprised if there are any.
Do you plan on picking up this box?
