Hi everyone!
It’s almost time for another round of Polish Pickup! I feel like I’m still recovering from Polish Con (and I’ll have a post up with lots of pictures from the day soon), but it’s already time to prepare for more Polish Pickup beauties.
The Polish Pickup shop will be open 5-8 October. The theme for the month of October is villains. Moonflower Polish has come up with a stunning blue stamping-friendly polish called The Grand Admiral.

The Grand Admiral is inspired by Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Star Wars universe. I wasn’t familiar with this character and Nadia convinced me (she didn’t have to try very hard!) to read the first of the Thrawn books. I’ve always been a huge Star Wars fan so I’m not sure why I had never tried reading one of the books before, but it’s fun to see where the inspiration for this polish came from.

Thrawn is a humanoid alien, with blue skin and red eyes. He is known for his brilliant strategic mind and ruthlessness. This vibrant blue polish is the perfect nail polish portrayal of the character!

Here I am showing two coats of The Grand Admiral plus top coat. The formula was great and very opaque. It’s a vibrant blue with coppery and grey microflakes and magenta shimmer. The official description is a bright cerulean blue creme with red shimmer, red-pink-gold aurora pigment, and gold, gunmetal, and red microflakes, with scattered holo.

Of course, Moonflowers are known to be good stampers, so I tried this in a couple of stamped looks as well.

First of all I tried The Grand Admiral over a lighter base in a wintry look. As you can see, it shows up as a bright, bold blue.

To get this look, I started with a base of KBShimmer Up to Snow Good. I then stamped using The Grand Admiral and Born Pretty Store plate L008.

The blue is bright and vibrant over the off-white base and it stamped really easily.

Doesn’t that look lovely?

If that doesn’t have you convinced that this is a wonderful polish, the stamping over black should.

This polish really shines over a black base! All of those shimmers really start to show and it is stunning!

For this look, I started with a base of Sinful Colors Black on Black and then stamped using The Grand Admiral and Moyou London Princess Collection 18.

See how well all of those shimmer and microflake particles show up?

I wanted to try a more solidly stamped image as well to see how it would work, and it’s just perfect. Good solid stamping and lots and lots of shimmery goodness!

If you’d like to pick up The Grand Admiral, it will be available from the Polish Pickup store from 5-8 October. It will be priced at $13.50 for a 15 ml bottle and there are only 75 bottles available!
Do you plan on picking this one up?
