Today I have five glorious holographic stamping polishes to share with you! These are from the Gemstones Collection part 1 from Moonflower Polish. I was so excited to try these as I think holographic stamping polishes look amazing! This collection consists of a gold, silver, black, purple, and turquoise, all of which stamp beautifully. I’ll start things off with the purple, Amatista.
Amatista is a vibrant, red-toned purple with a strong holographic effect. The official description is a red leaning purple holo. This shade is inspired by Amethyst.
Here is Amatista on its own:
It’s such a gorgeous shade! On its own, I am showing two easy coats of Amatista with top coat. This shade was easy to stamp with and showed up beautifully.
Since it is October, I thought it would be fun to use each of these stamping polishes with a Halloween-themed image. I also used a different one from the Moonflower Polish Vampy Cremes collection as the base shade in each look. The Vampy Cremes are also still available on the Moonflower Polish site, so you can get them if you see something you like!
Next up is Moonflower Polish Diamante, which of course is inspired by diamond. This is a silver holographic stamping polish. Nadia notes that it is a slightly darker shade than her ‘Silver’ stamping polish, good to know if you already have that one.
For this look, I started with a base of Moonflower Polish Navy Blue and then stamped using Diamante and BeautyBigBang plate XL-018.
It stamped perfectly! You can see a little of the holo effect but these polishes absolutely come to life in the sun with holo sparkle.
Here is Diamante on its own in two coats with top coat. This wasn’t my favourite as a regular polish, I prefer it for stamping, but it can definitely double up and fulfil your holo silver needs if you want it to. The formula is great and it’s perfectly opaque in two coats.
Next up is the gold polish of the collection, Oro.
Oro is the odd one out in the naming of the collection, since it is inspired by gold, and not an acutal gemstone. This is a pure gold holographic stamping polish.
This polish is a phenomenal stamper! To get this look, I started with a base of Moonflower Polish Dark Green, then stamped using Oro and BeautyBigBang plate XL-020. Oro is perfect over the dark green and I think I chose just the right stamping image for it!
Doesn’t it look great? Here is Oro on its own:
As with Diamante, I didn’t like Oro on its own as much as I liked it as a stamping polish. But it has a great formula and can certainly be used this way! Here I am showing two coats plus top coat.
Next up is my personal favourite from the collection, Aguamarina.
Aguamarina is a spectacular, vibrant turquoise holo. It stamps perfectly and looks amazing on its own – it’s just an all-round great polish to have!
To get this look, I started with a base of Moonflower Polish Wine – clearly the right base shade for this turquoise – and then stamped using Aguamarina and BeautyBigBang plate XL-019.
If you can only get one polish from this collection, this would be my recommendation! It’s inspired by Aquamarine and is the perfect aqua shade.
Aguamarina was also my favourite used as regular polish. I could swim in that shade! Shown here are two easy coats plus top coat.
Last but not least is Obsidiana.
Obsidiana is a perfect cool black stamping polish. Look at that holo sparkle!
Obsidiana is inspired by obsidian, a type of volcanic glass. To get this look, I started with a base of Moonflower Polish Plum and then stamped using Obsidiana and BeautyBigBang plate XL-018.
Since this is a black holo, of course the effect is more subtle against a dark base, but sometimes that’s just what you want! As you can see, it stamps perfectly.
Here is Obsidiana on its own in two perfectly smooth coats.
I wanted to share how these looked over a light base as well, so I used them all together in a look over white:
Don’t they look lovely? I didn’t do the best job of lining this stamping up on each nail, but I still really liked how it looked.
To get this look, I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and then stamped using Born Pretty Store plate BP-L052. I used all five Gemstone colours on each stamp and switched around the order in which I used them so that you’d see at least a little of each in the manicure. They go together really well, stamp crisply, and as you can see, they show up well over a light base as well.
So pretty! I need to use these again soon.
These polishes are priced at $14 for a 15 ml bottle or $8 for a mini 7 ml bottle. These are available right now in a preorder than ends tomorrow, 14 October, at 11:59 pm EST. They may be restocked in the future but it depends on how they do during this preorder, so if you really want them, now’s the time!
Do you plan on picking any of these up?
