Some items in this post were provided for my honest review.
Today I have the Moonflower Polish for November’s Polish Pickup to share with you. November’s theme is Badass Women and Nadia chose one of my personal favourites: Carrie Fischer as Leia Organa.
Rather than choosing a more vulnerable representation of Leia like her iconic gold bikini, Nadia wanted to represent her at her strongest: as General Organa, leader of the Resistance in The Last Jedi.
The General is a dark, dusty blue with red shimmer and a splash of holo. The official description is a bluish grey creme base with red to gold colour shifting aurora shimmers and scattered holo.
For these swatches, I used two coats of The General plus top coat. It dries semi-matte so you’ll want a top coat for shine. The formula was great, easy to apply and opaque.
You can just about see a little of the shimmer peeking out there!
Of course, Moonflower Polish is known for its great stamping polishes, so I tested this out in some stamping as well.
As you can see, The General stamps perfectly! I really liked this colour combination and was looking at my nails all day.
To get this look, I started with a base of Northern Star Polish I’ve Heard it Both Ways and then stamped using The General and BeautyBigBang plate XL-011.
The General makes a kind of unofficial duo with last month’s polish, which was inspired by Star Wars villian Thrawn, The Grand Admiral:
There you see The General stamped with The Grand Admiral. As you can see, they’re gorgeous together! I stamped that with the same plate, BeautyBigBang XL-011.
Back to stamping using The General: This is a gorgeous, wintry shade. Deep, dusty blue that reads almost like a stormy grey sometimes when it’s stamped.
Look at how crisply it stamps! I just love it.
What do you think, will you be getting this one?
Once again, The General is Moonflower’s November Polish Pickup shade. It will be available on the Polish Pickup site from 2-5 November and is priced at $12.50 per bottle. There will be a 150 bottle cap.
