Needle Drag | The Digital Dozen does Holo

Painted Fingertips | Needle drag and holo glitter - the Digital Dozen does holo

Hi everyone!

It’s Digital Dozen week! This month’s theme is Holo. It’s a pretty broad theme, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing a little of everything this week from Digital Dozen members. It was interesting for me to focus on using one particular finish of polish for all of my looks this week. I found myself searching through my drawers for all of my holo options, then seeing which shades would go well together and what types of nail art would work well with them.

I’m starting the week off with my least favourite look of the week. The only reason this was my least favourite is that it didn’t quite work out the way I had in mind. I had intended for the pink and turquoise to be more swirled together and in equal parts on the nail, but the pink ended up dominating a bit too much.

To get this look, I painted one half of each nail with Cupcake Polish Berry Good Looking and the other half with Cupcake Water You Doing?. I then used a pin to gently swirl the colours into each other (needle drag). The pink was a little more opaque than the turquoise, which resulted in it becoming more dominant on the nail. I decided to add a glitter topper, thinking some silver holo glitter could only be an improvement. I used a coat of Tip Top Rocky Road Glitter, which consists of silver holo hex glitters of different sizes.
