Back in September, I unfortunately missed Digital Dozen week. I really liked the theme, which was ‘recreating your first blog posts’, and I was so sorry that I wasn’t able to take part! I did have one look that was ready to go and so I am finally sharing it with you today. It’s a simple yet effective textured rose look.
The first time I created a version of this textured rose look was way back in August 2013, when I first started blogging at Painted Fingertips. In fact, it was the second post I ever shared on this blog. I thought this was such a versatile look – it can work with so many different colour combinations, it looks great, and it’s easy to create. Because of that, I’ve recreated it at various times – once over a gradient, once over a striped background, and once in a guest post over a radial gradient. This time, I’ve gone with a thermal polish as my base.
To get this look, I started with a base of Sassy Sauce Whole Lotta Lakes, then used a dotting tool to carefully apply Zoya Lorna in the abstract rose pattern.
Here it is with Whole Lotta Lakes in its cool state. Thermal polishes are always so cool to use in nail art, it’s like two looks in one!
What do you think?
