Marble Stone Nails | The Digital Dozen does Marble

Painted Fingertips | The Digital Dozen does Marble

Hi everyone!

It’s Digital Dozen week! The first Digital Dozen week of 2019, and this month the theme is Marble. I can bet we’ll be seeing plenty of gorgeous water marbles and drip marbles from everyone this week! I’ve decided to start the week off with a real marble stone look.

I got the idea for this look from a post on Manis and Makeovers. Lothwen did a Greek party look back when we were celebrating the Digital Dozen’s 5th birthday and the base she used was perfect for this theme! The Nailasaurus posted a tutorial for this technique a couple of years ago, if you’d like to try it as well.

To get this look, I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I then painted a layer of Snow Me White on my silicone nail art mat. While it was still wet, I added drops of Sinful Colors Black on Black and Slate and Zoya Trixie
on either side of the white. I then used a pin to drag the colors through and across the white a little bit. With the polish still wet, I used my stamper to pick it up (it’s okay if it smears – it’s supposed to and that add to the marble effect) and ‘stamped’ it directly on to my nail. Repeat for each nail and that’s it! I did use some liquid latex around my nails to help with clean-up as it’s a little messy.

Doesn’t that look cool? I’m amazed I’ve never tried this technique before; it’s easy, fun, and gives such a cool result. I think the opacity of the polishes you’re using will really dictate the final effect, so that’s something I need to experiment with.

And there’s a nice pinnable image if you want to come back and try this later!
