Hi everyone!
It’s day 4 of the Digital Dozen does texture! So far this week, I’ve gotten my texture from textured polish, with a textured dotticure, an elegant textured stripe, and a textured gradient over striping tape patterns. Today, I’ve done something different, using microbeads to create texture on my nails!

Microbeads can be used either to create very quick or very slow nail art – it’s very quick if you just pour it over your nails in a single colour or a mix of colours, but creating a picture with them like this is much slower!

Have you figured out what my picture is? It’s a sunset over the ocean! I used two shades of blue to show the sun glinting on the ocean, a row of dark gold to show a distant shore, a golden sun, and silver plus three shades of pink for the sunset colours. I used a base of Darling Diva The Hot Kitsune under the microbeads to bring an extra splash of gold in wherever there was a space between the microbeads. I used foil glue to make it easier to stick down the microbeads, and a rhinestone picker to make it easier to pick up and apply them.

I was pretty happy with this look, but it’s too bad that my nails have to be lined up to see the picture – an individual nail doesn’t look like much! I’ve done microbead pictures on my nails twice before, and both times I did flowers. I almost went for a floral look again, but I didn’t want to be too repetitive. The first time, I went with pink flowers with blue leaves, and the second time (my favourite microbead nail art), I did blue flowers with pink leaves – I only had so many colours to choose from!

This was a fun look to create, but it didn’t last long at all! This is definitely a look I’d only do for art’s sake. What do you think of my microbead sunset?
