It’s Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is texture. I used to be a huge fan of textured polish, but I haven’t used it as much over the past year or so. I’m not sure why, I just didn’t get around to using it much in nail art. I’m glad this week got me using my textured polishes again!
Isn’t this look fun? I kind of had this layered dot look in mind, although I didn’t nest the dots inside each other. I just kept on dotting until everything was covered, and then added a few more if I thought any particular colour needed to be a bit more visible.
To get this look, I started with a base of Essence Grey-t To Be Here, just in case any of the base still showed through between the dots. I then used a dotting tool to apply dots of Zoya Godiva, Chyna, Chita, Alice, Beatrix, and Stevie, OPI Solitaire, Tiffany Case, and The Impossible, Catrice PLUMdog Millionaire, and Rimmel Luna Love and Total Eclipse. It was interesting to see how the overall effect changed as I kept adding more and more colours! The final look is kind of crazy and almost reminds me of pompoms.
I think it’s really cool! Not something I can see myself wearing regularly, but it was a lot of fun and really perfect for the texture theme.
What do you think of this look? Are you a fan of textured polishes or do you prefer a smooth finish?
