Hi everyone!
It’s almost time for another Polish Pickup! If you’re reading this, you’re probably already familiar with Polish Pickup, but if not, it’s a monthly pop-up shop where exclusive polishes are available for just one weekend from a variety of indie brands, all inspired by the same theme. Each brand participating has just one exclusive polish available, so it’s a great way to try polishes from a variety of brands and there are always some breathtaking creations available. April’s theme is famous works of art and today I have Northern Star Polish’s creation to share with you.

When I got this polish, I found myself wondering if everything Kristin makes is incredible, or if she just knows my tastes really well and only sends me polish that she knows I’ll love! I suspect it’s the former – I’ve never been disappointed by a Northern Star yet. Just look at this one! It glows! This polish is called The Mirror Crack’d and here I am showing it in 3 thin easy coats plus top coat. The formula is great and 2 coats would probably be fine both of the time.

This polish was inspired by John Waterhouse’s The Lady of Shalott painting. The official description is a purple jelly-ish base with a glowing pink shimmer, gold dust shimmer, and a touch of indigo micro flakes. That description is accurate – I see a reddish-purple base, and the pink and gold shimmer combine to give this polish a gorgeous glow. You can see a few of the indigo micro flakes in the macro shot above.

The Mirror Crack’d will be priced at $12 per bottle, and there are only 75 bottles available, so scoop this one up!
Aside from the polish, Northern Star is also offering a cuticle oil set this month through the partner shop, Indie Pickup.

This is a set of 4 cuticle oils in 4 ml roller-ball dispensers, all inspired by the scents of Medieval England, and all on a herbal and floral theme. Here are the official scent descriptions:
Blackberry Sage – the fruitiest of the bunch, with an earthy sage and sweet berry notes. This one is so fruity and yummy, I can’t get enough!
Wild Mint Ivy – a light patchouli and woody base with notes of lavender, citrus, and then mint top notes. Such a refreshing scent!
Bergamot Chamomile – a light chamomile tea blended with moss, neroli, pear, and bergamot. This one is such a nice relaxing scent, I’m keeping it next to my bed!
Crocus – florals of rose, lilies, and crocuses mixed with ylang ylang and a soft musk. This has such a lovely light rose scent to it.

The set of 4 cuticle oils will be available via indie pickup, and is priced at $8.25. There will be 150 sets available. It’s the first time I’m using cuticle oil in a roller ball dispenser, and I’m a fan! It helps me to apply just enough that I get nice moisturised cuticles without ending up drenched in oil for the next hour.
What do you think of these? Are you planning on picking them up in April’s Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup? These will be available next weekend, from 5-8 April on the Polish Pickup site.
