Hi everyone!
Welcome back for day 2 of Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is books, and yesterday I shared a look inspired by the Charter magic of Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen by Garth Nix. Today’s nails are inspired by a book, but not a storybook.

About a year and a half ago, I started learning to play saxophone. This has been a lifelong dream for me and I’m so glad that I’m finally able to do it! Learning to play an instrument takes a lot of time and dedication, but to me it is really worthwhile.

I looked through my books and found one that was perfect nail art inspiration: Universal Method for Saxophone. The cover is a dusty blue decorated with lines of music and of course, a picture of a saxophone! You can see a snippet of the cover in the background of the picture above.

I recreated the saxophone on one nail – unfortunately I smeared it a little, but overall not too bad! I used acrylic paint to paint this as well as the music notes on other nails.

I tried to replicate a few snippets of the music from the book cover on my nails. The base polish I used was Supermoon Lacquer Azoth, which replicated the shade of the book’s cover perfectly. I also finished the look with a matte top coat, it just worked better with this nail art!

I really enjoyed this nail art! It was fun to combine my love of music with my nail art hobby. What do you think?
