It’s day 2 of the Digital Dozen does Christmas in July! I think today’s look may be my favourite of the week. It’s simple, but it just looks so cool and it was a lot of fun to create.
I decided that I wanted to use Christmassy colours, but combine them in a way that wasn’t inherently Christmassy. Kind of the opposite of yesterday’s look, when I used a Christmas stamping image but non-traditional colours. A splatter nail art fit the bill perfectly.
To get this look, I started with a base of Zoya Trixie. I then used a straw to splatter on Zoya Amal and Darling Diva Yes, it’s a Fake Tree to get the random splatter effect. I wanted a little something more, so I added a little bit of KBShimmer Up to Snow Good to the splatter, but I don’t think it really added much to the effect. I finished it all off with a top coat.
If you’re not familiar with this technique, you simply dip a straw in some polish and blow through the opposite end to spray some polish! It’s messy, but fun. It takes a little trial and error to figure out how much polish to have on the straw and a good angle to aim the straw at, but any random splashes or blobs of polish only add to the effect.
Such a simple but fun look! Take a look at some more Christmas in July nails at these links:
