Squiggly freehand nail art

freehand nail art with random squiggles

Hi everyone!

Well, it’s been a while. Seven long months to be precise. It turns out caring for an infant while trying to finish grad school during a pandemic takes up a lot of time – who knew?

I’ve actually had a handful of nail art looks photographed and ready to go into blog posts since last year, but I’ve been too swamped and overwhelmed to put a blog post together. I also haven’t been able to paint my nails much – wet nail polish isn’t very conducive to picking up a wiggly baby. Frankly, my nails are in a shocking state. I do miss painting them and doing some fun nail art, but I’ve just had other priorities lately. Fortunately I have this art from last year to share with you!

To get this look, I started with a base of Picture Polish Wine. I then used acrylic paint and a fine brush to freehand paint the dots and squiggles.

I’ve always enjoyed doing this type of nail art – it’s simple, fun to paint, and doesn’t have to be perfect to look great.

The contrast of the dark, vampy base polish and the bright acrylic paint is such fun!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my nails for once! I’m not sure when I’ll be back again, but hopefully sooner than in another seven months.
