So another Monday has rolled around… UGH! The good news is I have another manicure which I love to show you, once again using my trusty striping tape.
Ta-daaa! I loved wearing this on my nails! I started off by creating more-or-less triangular shapes using some neon colours – Nails Inc Kensington Park Road (blue) and Holland Park (purple), L.A. Colors Color Craze in Mint – although it’s a neon light green and not really mint at all – and Essence Colour & Go in Flashy Pumpkin.
Today I’m excited to show you a water marble I’ve done. I’ve always been amazed by those who can control the patterns of their water marble (and I still am), but I think with enough practice maybe I can do it too! So even though I’m not there yet I am very proud of the one I’ve done today:
I love this look! Water marbles always get a lot of compliments from friends and The Boyfriend loves them too, nobody realises that they’re actually not that hard to do 🙂
Yesterday I promised you some nail art using by brand new Sally Hansen Sugar Coats and that’s what I have for you today! A simple but pretty dotted gradient.
Ta-daaa! Textured polishes are perfect for all sorts of nail art! I started off with 3 coats of Tip Top Nail Chic – Cream Puff and then used 3 different sized dotting tools to apply first Razzleberry and then Sour Apple from the Sally Hansen Sugar Coats. This is super simple nail art but I really like it on my nails!
As you may remember from my last post, I was very excited to find Sally Hansen Sugar Coats in Clicks a few days ago. I love textured nail polish so I couldn’t wait to test it out and I got swatching! There are 8 colours available: Cherry Drop, Razzleberry, Sugar Fix, Cotton Candies, Sour Apple, Bubble Plum, Lick-O-Rich, and Sweetie. I got the first 6 of those – the two I didn’t get are Lick-O-Rich, which is a black texture, and Sweetie, which is yellow. I decided I don’t need another matte black texture since I have Nails Inc’s Leather Effect one and although it’s textured in quite a different way, I doubt I’ll ever use them both up. I also steered clear of the yellow since yellow doesn’t suit my skin tone, but I’m sure some people like it 😉
All swatches shown below are two coats, and the colours were pretty consistent. They applied easily and the texture developed as they dried. The white had a slightly thinner formula but it still applied well and looked good after two coats. And here we go:
Today I am excited to show you the prize I won a few weeks ago from Karine’s Vernis Club. I’d like to thank her for the great prize, I was so excited to go pick it up the the post office and play with my goodies 😀 I was lucky enough to win a $40 voucher to spend at KKCenterHK. There were a few restrictions as to what I could buy but luckily I could choose between a whole host of nail art items!
A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to win a hamper from Tip Top Nails South Africa. They have regular competitions on their Facebook Page and I was the lucky winner of one! Tip Top has two ranges – Tip Top Nail Chic and Nail Addict by Tip Top. Since I already owned quite a few of the Nail Chic polishes I thought I would probably receive some duplicates, but to my joy all of the polishes I received were new to me. Here’s what came in the hamper:
From left to right, I received Tip Top Miraculous Results! Nail Build, Nail Addict by Tip Top Baby Cheeks, Tip Top Nail Chic Pink Lady, Nail Addict by Tip Top Kingfisher, and Tip Top Quick Dry top coat. Today I’ll be showing you swatches of the 3 colours along with some comparisons to other colours.
Today’s post is a bit different. While I’ve been busy with the 31 Day Challenge, I’ve received no less than 3 nominations for blog awards. Considering how recently I started this blog, I was overwhelmed, and I just want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, and I hope you continue to like what you see! Beth from The Polish Influenza nominated me for a Versatile Blogger award, and I got nominations for a Liebster Award from both Aliquid and Nail Art by Divya. Thanks to all 3 of you lovely ladies! I’ve decided to combine all 3 into one post because there is some overlap between them. It’s going to be quite wordy but hopefully it’s interesting for you! 🙂
