The Digital Dozen Does Art: Flamingo Falls

Painted fingertips | Flamingo Falls - The Digital Dozen Does Art

Hi everyone!

It’s day 4 of The Digital Dozen does art! Today I’m sharing what is probably my favourite look for the week, although I still need to do something for tomorrow. After I’d done the first couple of designs, I was struggling to think of ideas, so I decided to peruse DeviantArt for some new art inspiration. There, I came upon a beautiful painting called Flamingo Falls by user AnnMarieBone. She has done a lot of stunning art, it’s worth taking a look! (more…)

Alien and flying saucer nail art

Hi everyone!

Today I have some cute alien nail art for you. In the wake of the 31 Day Challenge, I don’t have any nail art ‘saved up’ for the blog. I was far too busy with the challenge to get any extra posts done! I just managed to finish this for today, so hopefully over the next couple of weeks I’ll get a chance for some extra nail art. Roundup – #31DC2014

Hi everyone!

The 31 Day Challenge is officially over and I’m very glad to have made it to the end. I was proud of a lot of the nail art I’ve created this month so I thought I’d do a roundup post with some of my favourites (and least favourites!). If you see anything you like or that you missed during the challenge, click on the link or the picture to see the details! I did a little bit of everything during this month so lets jump right in! #31DC2014 – DAY 31!!! Honour Nails You Love <3

Hi everyone!

I’ve made it! It’s the last day of the 31 Day Challenge and I’ve managed to complete it, for the second time. The past few days my posts have been later than usual as I’ve struggled to get them done but I’ve done each one on the right day so success!

Today’s theme is ‘Honour nails you love’. This can be a tough one – not because I can’t think of nails I love, but because there are so many amazing nail artists and designs out there that it’s hard to choose one. I knew I’d struggle with this, so since the challenge started, I’ve been keeping my eyes open for something I loved. When Victoria from Vic & Her Nails posted these beautiful Chinese pattern nails earlier this month, I decided then and there that that’s what I’d recreate for today. (more…)

Daisy nails – Inspired by a Tutorial for day 30 of the #31DC2014

Hi everyone!

It’s day 30 of the 31 Day Challenge! The second last day! Today’s theme is inspired by a tutorial. There are so many great nail art tutorials out there and I wasn’t sure where to even begin choosing one. In the end I settled on this daisy daze nail art tutorial done by Wondrously Polished. (more…)

Inspired by the Supernatural – Day 29 of the #31DC2014

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme for the 31 Day Challenge is Inspired by the Supernatural. I’ve stretched a bit to get mine within the theme, but too bad – I love what I’ve done!

I originally planned to stamp some little demons over a background of fire. Once I’d done the fire, I liked it so much that I didn’t want to add the demons any more… so now they’re just Hellfire nails. (more…)

Day 28 of the 31 Day Challenge: Flag

Hi everyone!

Today is definitely my least favourite day of the challenge this year! I did these nails in a rush as I didn’t have a lot of time today and ‘inspired by a flag’ is anyway not the most exciting of prompts. These nails would probably never have been on my blog if I wasn’t determined to finish the challenge! (more…)

Day 27 of the 31 Day Challenge: Inspired by an Artwork

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme in the 31 Day Challenge is ‘Inspired by an Artwork’. There are so many beautiful artworks out there – most of which are tough to translate to nail art – but I remembered seeing these amazing nails done by Break Rules Not Nails. They were inspired by an artwork called “Home on the Hill” by Megan Duncanson. It was the first time I heard of Megan Duncanson, but I love the vivid colours and brushstrokes used in all her works. I’ve been keeping this picture around for ages wanting to recreate it, so I finally got my chance. Here’s the original artwork (picture from Google): (more…)
