It’s day 2 of the Digital Dozen does Art and I have more freehand goodness to share with you today! For this one, I was inspired by this beautiful painting called First Snow Fall by Megan Duncanson of MADART studios. There are lots of gorgeous works on her site, so go take a look! (more…)
It’s Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is art and it’s actually the second time that this is a Digital Dozen theme. The first time was long before I was a member of the group, though. I was pretty excited about this theme, even though it’s a tough one! I knew that it would challenge me to create some really cool nail art, and it definitely has. I’ve done three of the looks for this week so far and I really like all of them. We’ll see how it goes with the last two!
For the first art look for this week, I decided to go with a very famous painting: The Scream by Edvard Munch. (more…)
Can you believe we’re already at the end of Digital Dozen week? This week has just flown by! I’m especially glad it’s Friday though – I didn’t have a particularly tough week, but for some reason I’m really tired out and I need a weekend!
For the final day of the Digital Dozen does black week, I’ve included the least colour of any day – just a little silver holo – over the black base. Let’s take a look! (more…)
Can you believe it’s already day 4 of the Digital Dozen Does Black? This week is going by so fast! If you missed my previous posts this week, check out day 1, day 2, and my personal favourite day 3. Last night I finished off my final look for tomorrow’s DD does black post. I was showing it off to my husband when he commented that I’d done an awful lot of black manicures lately! Duh – it’s Digital Dozen black week! I had even asked him for some ideas for the last look the night before, so it’s not like he didn’t know about it 🙂
Today I decided to bring in some texture with the black and of course, you know by now that my favourite thing to use together with texture is tape. That meant I ended up creating a fun pink and black crisscross look. (more…)
It’s day 3 of the Digital Dozen Does Black! So far I’ve shared two stamped looks exploiting the contrast between glossy and matte – one with pink accents, and the other with gold. Today I’m finally steering away from the stamping. I enjoyed the milky coffee water marble I did last week so much that I’ve decided to bring Water Marble Wednesday back for a while! I won’t be committing to posting a marble every single Wednesday, but I do have a couple lined up and ideas for a few more 🙂 I’m starting it off today with a black and clear water marble over a neon gradient. (more…)
It’s day 2 of the Digital Dozen Does Black. Yesterday, I showed you some matte on glossy black stamping with a pink accent. Today I’ve done something with a pretty similar idea behind it, even if the look itself is quite different. I’ve again combined matte and glossy finishes and added a splash of colour. (more…)
It’s Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is black. This seemed like the perfect theme for me to combine matte and glossy finishes – with a splash of colour, of course! I think this will be a fun theme, although I’m pretty sure I’ll be including at least a little colour each day. (more…)
Today the Digital Dozen are celebrating our January birthdays with some gorgeous galaxies! This month it is Shelly’s birthday from Sassy Shelly – go take a look at her nails if you haven’t already, she does some amazing nail art! She picked out a gorgeous image that just screamed galaxy nails.
It’s the fifth and final day of the Digital Dozen Does Decades! You might be wondering how I could do a nail art to represent a decade we are still in – well, today I am continuing yesterday’s nail art history lesson with the introduction of textured polish. (more…)
It’s day 4 of the Digital Dozen does Decades and today I’m doing the 2000s. I’m honestly not too sure what colours or styles would best represent the 2000s – perhaps it is still too recent to discern what set the time apart. Instead, I’m going to give you a little bit of a nail art history lesson! (more…)
