I managed to get my final look done for the Digital Dozen’s mythical creatures week, just one day late. Phew! So far this week, I’ve shared nail art looks inspired by dragons, fairies, phoenix, and unicorns. I had so much fun with this week’s theme, and honestly I think it’s been one of my best Digital Dozen weeks! The only look I didn’t absolutely LOVE was my unicorn one.
For today’s look, I needed to get something done in a hurry after my giant Moonflower stamping polish post set me a day behind. I looked through the pictures from the other Digital Dozen members this week and this basilisk look by Manis & Makeovers really stood out to me. My look turned out quite different from hers, but she definitely inspired me.
I know, I know, I’m behind on Digital Dozen posts! I really love this theme so I’m going to try my best to get the last one done this weekend. For now, here is a quick stamped unicorn look. I don’t think it lives up to the other incredible unicorn looks posted by other Digital Dozen members this week, but at least it’s done. And, if you’re wondering why I’m a day behind, did you see my mega post yesterday with 10 stamped nail art looks? I reviewed 5 new stamping polishes and they’re all fantastic!
Back to today’s look – I actually did these about a month ago and hadn’t got around to posting them as I was on the fence about them. However, they are perfect for this theme, so I am finally sharing them with you.
Some items in this post were provided for honest review.
I am so excited to share this post with you! A short while ago, Nadia of Moonflower Polish approached me and asked me if I could showcase a few of her polishes on my blog. Of course I leapt at the opportunity! Most polishes made by Moonflower are intended as stamping polish, so of course they are perfect for me with all of the nail art I do. In fact, just the other day I was thinking that I needed something fresh in my stamping repertoire and purchased a few new plates. These stamping polishes were perfect to add to that and I think you will like them too!
Today I have 5 brand new Moonflower polishes to share, the Vampy Cremes. These are releasing tomorrow morning, 23 February, at 9 am EST on the Moonflower Polish site. They are all dark creme bases with complementary colour shifting shimmers. They will be priced at $8 for a 15 ml bottle, or $38 for the set of 5. They are also available in mini bottles at $5 each or $23 for the set of 5. Do note that since these are highly pigmented, they may cause staining of nails, skin, or stampers; however I personally have not had any issues with staining while using these as stamping polishes.
I have tested each of these stamping polishes over both a light and a dark colour, so there are no less than 10 stamped looks to follow! It is a long, picture-heavy post, but worth it. Keep on scrolling to see how amazing each of the stamping polishes looks!
It’s day 3 of the Digital Dozen does Mythical Creatures! Remember how I mentioned on Monday that dragons are always the first mythical creature that come to mind for me? Well, phoenix are rarely far behind. I love the whole concept of the phoenix, from its flaming body to its ability to resurrect. So today, I have done a phoenix-inspired drip marble.
It’s day 2 of the Digital Dozen does Mythical Creatures! I am really loving what the other DD members have come up with so far – I’m looking forward to the rest of this week’s nail art! Yesterday, I started the theme off with some freehand dragon nail art. Today, I’ve gone for a far more delicate mythical creature – the fairy.
It’s Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is Mythical Creatures. I am so excited for this one – I love fantasy and the mythical creatures that go along with it. I also think I’ve done at least a couple of good nail art looks for this week that I am excited to share with you! For my first look of the week, I went with the first creature I always think of associated with anything fantastical or mythical – the dragon!
I finally did some lacy stamping! This is something that I’m always meaning to do and never really get to. Or rather – I have done lacy stamping before, but I’ve always managed to avoid doing it over a nude base. Until now!
It’s Water Marble Wednesday! It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared a Wednesday water marble, and I’ve really missed creating these. Recently, Vapid Lacquer had a special purge sale to clear out old or imperfect stock, at steep discounts. I was able to pick up their Candy Shop collection of pastel neons during the sale at around half price. I don’t see anything wrong with mine, so I think they were just clearing out old stock. I had a feeling these would be perfect for water marbles, and I was right!
I have some simple but lovely silver stamping to share with you today! I did this nail art a couple of months ago, back when I shared swatches of Supermoon Lacquer The Hound of Hades. I often like to add some stamping to a swatch, it’s a quick and easy way to create some pretty nail art!
