I have some really pretty stamping over Polish ‘M Cheer to share with you today – I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to post these to the blog! I’ve had these pictures sitting in my ready-to-post folder since May and between Digital Dozen posts, Water Marble Wednesdays, and reviews, it just kept getting pushed back. Thankfully I am finally getting around to it because it deserves a little love!
It’s Water Marble Wednesday! Do you remember last week’s marble? Do you remember me mentioning that it would be important for this week, too? …Have you spotted it yet? Last week’s marble is actually the base for this week’s marble! I’ve done my first ever layered water marble. I’ve done marbles over gradients or other art bases before, but this is my first time layering two marbles!
I know it’s only July, but I have some Halloween nail art for you today! I have two nail art looks using Born Pretty Store plate BP-L057, which has some perfect Halloween images. I wanted to share it with you now so that you have time to order it and get it in time for Halloween!
I got this plate using my Born Pretty Store points. Did you know that they have a point system? You can upload pictures of nail art using their products and earn points, which you can use to purchase more products from their store.
Since I am currently TAing a field camp in Northern Minnesota, I’ve decided to enlist the help of a few of my favourite fellow nail bloggers with some guest posts here on Painted Fingertips. Today I have a guest post from the lovely Kristi of BeginNails. Kristi is a part of the Digital Dozen group with me and does some really cool nail art – go check out her blog and give her a follow if you don’t already follow her!
Greetings and Nailutations,
I’m Kristi from BeginNails and I’ll be guest posting for Kerry today while she is up exploring northern Minnesota. I was honored that she asked me to guest post and quickly said yes! Now lets get into the good stuff!
I started with a 3 coat base of Spectre Flair to get complete opacity. I topped it with HK Girl Top Coat and made sure that was dry before continuing with my stamping. I protected my skin with Cuticle Cover and I decided to do a mix of stamping with Coral and Yoga Pants with the Shapely 02 Plate.
I rarely do manis that mix and match images and I always love how they turn out. I hope you did too!
I hope you are enjoying your explorations Kerry!
Kristi aka BeginNails
Don’t her nails look lovely? I’m loving the pink, black and silver colour combination!
Don’t forget to go show Kristi some love on her blog and social media! Here are some links where you can take a look at more of her work and give her a follow: BeginNails blog Facebook Instagram Pinterest Twitter Youtube Google +
It’s day 5 of the Digital Dozen Does Continents! We’ve made it! I’m finishing off the week with the second continent I’ve lived on! I am currently working on my PhD in the US – so today we’re celebrating North America.
It’s day 4 of the Digital Dozen does Continents! I took a bit of a break from the freehand nail art I’ve done for the other days of this week with some stamping. I was trying to think about what could be used to represent Europe – combined with what I might find on a stamping plate – when I remembered that Holland is known for its beautiful fields of tulips!
It’s day 3 of the Digital Dozen Does Continents and today I’m back to a continent I’ve never set foot on – Asia! I almost chose Antarctica for today, but the cute penguin stamping image I wanted to use was being difficult. For whatever reason, I didn’t feel like freehanding penguins. Then it hit me – what else is cute and black and white and an icon of a continent? Pandas!
It’s the second day of The Digital Dozen does Continents and today I’ve decided to go with the continent I grew up on – Africa. In case you didn’t know, I’m South African and I lived there for the first 25 years of my life. A few years ago, my husband and I took a holiday to the neighbouring country of Namibia. Much of Namibia is desert – the Namib Desert. We went to see the beautiful natural sights and one of the places we visited was the Dooie Vlei.
