Today’s theme in the Neverending Pile Challenge is texture. By now you probably know I love texture, and I love what I came up with for this theme! (more…)
It’s the final set of Tribal Texture swatches! All these polishes are available from the Born Pretty Store and were bought by me.
As I mentioned in the previous posts, part one and part two, I had some formula issues with some of these polishes. Well, the issues were the WORST with the ones I’m showing today. However, because they were textured polishes, I found I could handle it without getting too frustrated. They were really thick – the worst was number 12. There was a little polish around the lid, so I suspect it wasn’t sealed quite properly during transit and it was completely unusable. The good news is, after just a few drops of thinner, everything was fine and it applied well. So don’t let the formula put you off if you like the colours – nothing a little thinner can’t solve!
I’ll start off with number 10 – a brown texture. (more…)
Today I have the next four Tribal texture polishes from the Born Pretty Store swatched for you. The first four I did – a white, pink, gold, and green – can be found here.
Just a note on the formula of these. I mentioned it in the previous post already, but these polishes are much slower-drying than other textures you may be used to. The dark blue I am showing today was particularly slow-drying. I mean, it could be dented for hours after application. Luckily this isn’t as noticeable with a textured polish but it’s definitely annoying, so I wouldn’t recommend using these when you’re in a hurry.
The first one for today is a pale blue, Tribal texture number 14.
A few weeks ago I received my very first order from the Born Pretty Store. Of course, I couldn’t resist their textured polishes, so I got the set of 12 colours! I’ve broken the swatches down into 3 posts so I’ll show you the first 4 colours today.
Firstly, a note about the formula. It varied from one polish to another, but in general they were thick and VERY slow-drying. I recommend using these only when you have plenty of time to do your nails or they will get messed up! Some were only a little slower than normal polishes while others really took forever. Some were also thicker than others and with a creme polish there might have been a minor disaster, but it didn’t bother me all that much with the textures. I also think it’s nothing that can’t be fixed with a few drops of thinner. It was mostly the darker colours (not in this post) that had the thicker formula, so these were slow-drying but not that bad. Shown below are 2 coats of each polish.
On to the polishes! First up is number 01. The polishes don’t have names, only numbers. This is a white texture with silver glitters.
So another Monday has rolled around… UGH! The good news is I have another manicure which I love to show you, once again using my trusty striping tape.
Ta-daaa! I loved wearing this on my nails! I started off by creating more-or-less triangular shapes using some neon colours – Nails Inc Kensington Park Road (blue) and Holland Park (purple), L.A. Colors Color Craze in Mint – although it’s a neon light green and not really mint at all – and Essence Colour & Go in Flashy Pumpkin.
Hello! Happy Friday! Today I have some textured roses for you. I am loving textured nail polish, but unfortunately, it’s not that easy to get a hold of here. I yearn after all the beauties I see on other blogs! Luckily for me, the lovely Michelle over at Ordinary Misfit was kind enough to mail me a mini set of the OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand polishes 😀
I was super excited to try them out and even though I was looking forward to Get Your Number and Can’t Let Go the most, I ended up pulling out The Impossible first to try out some textured nail art. (more…)
