Finally, we reach my favourite nail colour: Violet, which means I get to use PURPLE polishes!
AND I used a textured polish, yay! As I have mentioned before, when I couldn’t find liquid sands anywhere near me, the delightful Michelle over at Ordinary Misfit got them for me and posted them to me! How amazing is that?
Well, here it seems like spring has sprung. It’s a beautiful, sunny day. But just last week, all the surrounding mountains were covered in snow! So for today’s blue nails, here is a nice snowy mani to say goodbye to winter! On my ring finger I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in Scarab. It was fairly opaque in one coat, but needed a second to cover some bald spots. I then did 3 coats of Essence nail art Special Effect! topper in Cool Breeze. I was hoping the effect would be a little more pronounced, which is why I ended up with 3 coats, but it gave a really beautiful, opalescent effect. It had an extremely strange consistency though, it was very thick and gel-like. It would have been a problem for a normal colour, but since it was a subtle glitter topper it was okay. I stamped the snowman using plate BM-318.
Hooray, I am officially DONE with the 3 colours that are not quite me and back into my comfort zone! Green nails! I tried something a bit different for these: My first feather nails.
And there you have them! I started off painting my nails with Sinful Colors Rise and Shine, not that you can actually see that. Then I did each nail one at a time, painting a thick layer of top coat and sticking the goodness onto it.
Well, today is by far my least favourite challenge day. It’s not that I don’t like yellow, it’s just that I don’t like yellow on me. One day back in high school, I saw a bright yellow t-shirt with a picture of wonder woman on it. I went to try it on, and when I looked in the mirror, my skin looked… green. It was awful. So, yellow REALLY doesn’t suit my skin tone. I only have one yellow polish and that only in case I need a yellow for some nail art.
With that said, here are today’s nails. As you can see, I managed to make quite a mess of them as well. It was an okay idea but poorly excecuted – I used tape for the black blocks but somehow my lines came out skew and messy anyway. I’m not sure why since I’ve used tape and gotten beautiful crisp lines plenty of times before.
It’s the second day of the 31 day challenge and today the challenge is orange nails. I only had a couple of shades of orange to choose from so I decided to take it literally and put ORANGES on my nails!
I used 2 coats of essence colour & go in Flashy Pumpkin for my index, middle and pinkie fingers and I think 3 coats of Rimmel Cocktail Colour in a Flash in Shirley Temple for my ring finger and thumb.
Hi everyone! Today is the first day of the 31 day challenge that a whole host of nail bloggers are taking part in. This is the first time I am doing a scheduled post so I hope everything works okay.
The first day is red nails. Well, I didn’t have many colours to choose from (although more than I have for the orange and yellow days!) – my collection is very purple/blue/green heavy. I did like the look I came up with though 🙂 (more…)
Today I am sharing a stamping mani with you. I am very, very new to stamping so it is far from perfect! These pictures were also taken just before I started the blog. It’s only since I started that I realised how much better it looks if you clean up PROPERLY, and not only more or less, but I still want to post the nails I’ve done before. So, sorry for all the pictures you might be seeing soon without proper cleanup, I promise I’ll put more effort into it from now on!
I started with 2 coats of Tip Top nail chic – Cha Cha Cha. I had a swatch of it on its own, but it was taken at a different time and my lighting was awful so I just couldn’t get the colour right. You can see it well enough on these pictures.
Hi everyone! Today I’m showing you a fun skittle mani I did using different types of purple glitter.
I started off with two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure 409 Good to Grape on all my fingers. Then I just had some fun with different glitters I got in a set from Bundle Monster! The microbeads/caviar beads come from the set as well.
