October Tri-polish challenge Part 1: Tigers!

Hi everyone!

I almost skipped the tri-polish challenge this month because I mistakenly thought the first posts had to be up last week and I hadn’t done anything yet. Luckily I was mistaken so I had a chance to put something together!

This month’s colours are orange, yellow and green. Not my favourite combination, but it is very Halloweeny. For the challenge, you have to use at least 2 of the 3 colours per design (and all 3 on at least one design) and you may add black, white, gold, silver, and glitter toppers. Here’s what I did:

Tape mani Monday: Textured triangles over neons

Hi everyone!

So another Monday has rolled around… UGH! The good news is I have another manicure which I love to show you, once again using my trusty striping tape.

tape mani triangles nails inc leather effect noho over essence flashy pumpkin LA colors mint nails inc holland park and kensington park roadTa-daaa! I loved wearing this on my nails! I started off by creating more-or-less triangular shapes using some neon colours – Nails Inc Kensington Park Road (blue) and Holland Park (purple), L.A. Colors Color Craze in Mint – although it’s a neon light green and not really mint at all – and Essence Colour & Go in Flashy Pumpkin.

Water marble over silver

Hello ladies!

Today I’m excited to show you a water marble I’ve done. I’ve always been amazed by those who can control the patterns of their water marble (and I still am), but I think with enough practice maybe I can do it too! So even though I’m not there yet I am very proud of the one I’ve done today:

Water marbles always get a lot of compliments from friends and The Boyfriend loves them too, nobody realises that they’re actually not that hard to do πŸ™‚

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Swatches

Hi everyone!

As you may remember from my last post, I was very excited to find Sally Hansen Sugar Coats in Clicks a few days ago. I love textured nail polish so I couldn’t wait to test it out and I got swatching! There are 8 colours available: Cherry Drop, Razzleberry, Sugar Fix, Cotton Candies, Sour Apple, Bubble Plum, Lick-O-Rich, and Sweetie. I got the first 6 of those – the two I didn’t get are Lick-O-Rich, which is a black texture, and Sweetie, which is yellow. I decided I don’t need another matte black texture since I have Nails Inc’s Leather Effect one and although it’s textured in quite a different way, I doubt I’ll ever use them both up. I also steered clear of the yellow since yellow doesn’t suit my skin tone, but I’m sure some people like it πŸ˜‰

All swatches shown below are two coats, and the colours were pretty consistent. They applied easily and the texture developed as they dried. The white had a slightly thinner formula but it still applied well and looked good after two coats. And here we go:

Tip Top has two ranges – Tip Top Nail Chic and Nail Addict by Tip Top.
