Hi everyone!

Today’s theme for the Neverending Pile Challenge is to use as many untried polishes in one mani as possible. I managed to use no less than ten untried polishes. That’s right, ten! I originally intended this for the Gold prompt, but I decided to move it up to today instead. (more…)

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme for the Neverending Pile Challenge is a drugstore-available polish. For me, that’s almost all I own, since most other polishes are out of my price range. I used polishes from a few different brands, including 3 untrieds, and I decided to try creating some stamping decals again. (more…)

Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge Day 2: Jewel Toned

Hi everyone!

It’s day 2 of the Nail Art A-Go-Go challenge hosted by Gnarly Gnails and today’s theme is jewel-toned. I’m sure we’ll be seeing lots of emerald greens, ruby reds, and sapphire blues – I anticipate Essie’s Lots of Lux has been put to good use by someone – but I decided to take inspiration from some beautiful gemstones I actually saw recently to create this: nails-gradient-catrice-genius-in-a-bottle-sinful-colors-out-the-this-world-sally-hansen-lustre-shine-scarab-sinful-colors-opal-glitter (more…)

31 Day Challenge – Day 30: Inspired by a tutorial

Hi everyone!

Yayyy, it’s the second last day of the challenge! I just have to get out one last design tonight and I’ll have DONE my first ever nail art challenge 😀

Today’s theme is inspired by a tutorial, and even though there are tons of great tutorials to choose from, there is one I have been waiting to try since the start of the challenge. Adventures in Acetone does great tutorials and she has one for just about every adorable animal under the sun 🙂animals (more…)

31 Day Challenge – Day 24: Inspired by a book

Hello ladies!

It’s a public holiday (Heritage Day) here in South Africa today, so I’ve scheduled this post and I’m probably lying in bed sleeping in 😀

For today’s challenge, I had to create some book-inspired nails, and I was happy to use one of my favourite books ever: Sabriel by Garth Nix. It’s part of a trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen) which were my absolute favourite books as a teenager and are still among my favourites. (more…)

31 Day Challenge – Day 23: Inspired by a movie

Hi everyone!

Today I tried some of the most complex nail art I’ve ever done: Finding Nemo nails! They’ve been done before plenty of times, but I knew I wanted to do an animation for my movie-inspired nails, and Finding Nemo was one of my favourite animations ever. Before I show you the pictures, I want you to focus very carefully: Look at my thumb, index finger, middle finger, CLOSE YOUR EYES FOR A MILLISECOND, and look at my pinkie. Seriously, don’t even THINK about looking at my trainwreck of a ring finger! Sadly I didn’t have time to try redo it! (more…)
