Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

Hi everyone!

I have a swatch to share with you today. I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago and today I had to share them with you because, just a couple of weeks after the tragedy of my first broken nail polish, my second one broke. I no longer have this gorgeous red so this is its last goodbye. I came home to find my husband scrubbing the floor with my nail polish remover… our cat had decided a few polish bottles belonged on the floor and sadly this one didn’t make it.

Ah, well – at least we still have pictures to enjoy! Painted Fingertips | Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Cartoons and Comics

Hi everyone!

I’m sure some of the other ladies taking part in today’s prompt have come up with amazing nails! I can’t wait to go and take a look – their links are at the bottom of this post if you can’t either!

The nails I am sharing with you today are actually what I wore for Halloween. It was my first Halloween in the US and I wanted to dress up but didn’t have anything to make a costume from. I did have my basic makeup collection though, so I decided to go as a Pop Art Cartoon girl, and with nails to match! I’ve also included a picture of my makeup from the night, so stay with me 🙂Painted Fingertips | Pop art cartoon comic nail art (more…)

Freehand Floral Nails

Hi everyone!

For today’s nail art, I just really felt like doing a nice bright gradient and then topping it with something flowery. Once the gradient was done, I couldn’t settle on which way to go with the floral, so I ended up doing something similar to what I did in this post, which was originally inspired by Lacquerstyle. HPB Presents: Valentines Nails

Hi everyone!

If you’re a follower of my blog, you’ve probably heard about the Facebook Group Hobby Polish Bloggers by now. HPB is a great support group for nail and nail polish bloggers. It’s not about sharing nail pictures, but rather is about discussing, asking for help, and being part of a blogging community. If you’re a blogger too, go check out the group! The past few months, we have been doing a monthly themed linkup for group members. This month’s theme is Valentine’s. Here’s what I came up with: Painted Fingertips | Roses and hearts Valentine's nail art (more…)

Negative Space Hearts

Hi everyone!

Today’s nail art was inspired by a recent Instagram post by @cdbnails143. I was scrolling down my feed when I saw some absolutely beautiful negative space nail art she had done. A lot of negative space art doesn’t appeal to me, but I really liked this one! I have only tried negative space art once before. CDBnails’ original manicure was done with stamping, but since I didn’t have the same stamping plate, I decided to try a freehand version: Painted Fingertips | Negative space hearts nail art (more…)

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 1 – Red Rubies

Hi everyone!

As I mentioned in my 1 year of blogging post, I am taking part in the 31 Day Challenge this month. This challenge was created years ago – nobody seems to be sure where it originated – and has been done my many nail artists since to work on nail art skills in a really fun way! What’s even more fun is that a lot of nail bloggers choose to do this challenge in September, so you can see all of the different looks everyone comes up with for the same themes.

The idea is to do a new nail art look every single day for 31 days. If you’re curious or keen to try the challenge, take a look at this FAQ on Chalkboard Nails. The theme for the first day is red, and I’ve done rubies! painted-fingertips-31dc2014-red-rubies (more…)

Tri Polish Challenge: 80s nails

Hi everyone!

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for another tri-polish challenge post. This month’s colours are red, yellow, and blue. So far this month I’ve done cute octopus nails and some fun dots and swirls. Today, I decided to go neon!
