I’m running a bit behind with this week’s Digital Dozen posts – I’m going to a conference next week and I’ve had a really busy few days preparing for it. The good news is I think I’m ready for the conference, so now I’m going to be playing catchup with some nail art posts for you. For my second ‘inspired by each other’ look, I was inspired by this black and white dotticure done by Druid Nails. Simple but so striking and pretty!
Since I am currently TAing a field camp in Northern Minnesota, I’ve decided to enlist the help of a few of my favourite fellow nail bloggers with some guest posts here on Painted Fingertips. Today I have a guest post from the lovely Kristi of BeginNails. Kristi is a part of the Digital Dozen group with me and does some really cool nail art – go check out her blog and give her a follow if you don’t already follow her!
Greetings and Nailutations,
I’m Kristi from BeginNails and I’ll be guest posting for Kerry today while she is up exploring northern Minnesota. I was honored that she asked me to guest post and quickly said yes! Now lets get into the good stuff!
I started with a 3 coat base of Spectre Flair to get complete opacity. I topped it with HK Girl Top Coat and made sure that was dry before continuing with my stamping. I protected my skin with Cuticle Cover and I decided to do a mix of stamping with Coral and Yoga Pants with the Shapely 02 Plate.
I rarely do manis that mix and match images and I always love how they turn out. I hope you did too!
I hope you are enjoying your explorations Kerry!

Don’t her nails look lovely? I’m loving the pink, black and silver colour combination!
Don’t forget to go show Kristi some love on her blog and social media! Here are some links where you can take a look at more of her work and give her a follow: BeginNails blog Facebook Instagram Pinterest Twitter Youtube Google +
It’s Day 5 of The Digital Dozen Does Art! I made it – I’m posting later than usual, but it’s still Friday! I only found an artwork that I found inspiring and that I could figure out a good nail art composition for last night, so this one ended up a little more last-minute. I really loved this theme but I’m glad it’s over for now – as the saying goes, variety is the spice of life, and I’m now ready for some simple, quick nail art 🙂(more…)
Today’s 31 Day Challenge theme is dots! I decided to do a neon dotticure. I wasn’t sure if this counts as freehand, since I was using a dotting tool – but then again I was using the dotting tool freehand? It’s a grey area, so I just went bright and detailed to make it count!
Some items in this post have been provided for photography and review.
The wood joining the watch face to the strap broke while I was wearing the watch. I was just sitting there, not doing anything to cause it to break. I am contacting JORD to see if they can help me with this issue.
Today I have a gorgeous watch and nail art to share with you. If you love this watch (or any of the others JORD makes!) be sure to scroll to the end of the post – you could win a gift code for $75 off one of their watches.
I had a rough start to the week when I woke up Monday morning with some pretty bad abdominal pain. I ended up going to the hospital and after being examined by several doctors, having blood tests and a CT scan they confirmed it was appendicitis. If you’ve ever been in the hospital for something like this, you’ll know there is a lot of waiting involved! I was well taken care of though and I wound up in surgery late Monday night. Luckily an appendectomy is pretty much the most routine surgery there is, so I wasn’t too worried – just glad I could get better. I’m back home now and just feeling weak and tired and I can’t concentrate for long.
Fortunately, I had a bunch of posts lined up that I just had to write up – so at least I can blog! Today I have another 5 minute nail art post lined up for you. I covered it all in my first #5minutenailart post, but basically I start with a plain base colour and have just 5 minutes to turn it into art.
Today’s 31 Day Challenge theme is polka dots. I was busy browsing nail blogs, actually looking for something for the tutorial theme, when I got side tracked and found this pretty dotticure on Lucy’s Stash. It was perfect for today’s theme!(more…)
Firstly, one of my wonderful readers has let me know that if you are following this blog via WordPress, you might not be seeing options to like and comment any more. Unfortunately, that seems to be a side-effect of moving to a self-hosted blog and there doesn’t seem to be a solution. All I can do is encourage you to follow via email or Bloglovin’, or just click through to the full post where you will see more pictures and be able to comment easily. Now, on to the nails! (more…)
