It’s day 18 of the Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge and today’s theme is Sci-Fi. This gave me the perfect opportunity to do a nail design that’s been milling around in the back of my mind for some time – Green Lantern nails. I do like Green Lantern, but I’m not really a huge fan… unlike my boyfriend! Green Lantern is one of his favourite figures because the fact that the Green Lantern uses his will to fight is very true to life – each one of us has to use our will to get any of the things we have in life. I do think it’s a very cool concept which is why I decided to represent it on my nails today. (more…)
This is the fourth and final manicure for this month’s tri-polish challenge using orange, yellow and green. Halloween isn’t really a ‘thing’ here in South Africa, but for those of you that it’s a bigger deal for, Happy Halloween! And enjoy my Halloween-y nails! (more…)
When I first saw the colours for this month’s tri-polish challenge – yellow, orange and green – I was pretty unsure and I struggled to think of cool ideas. But this is proof that sometimes it works to just TRY something, because I love the design I have for you today!
I started with a sponged gradient of my 3 colours for the month – Essence Colour & Go Flashy Pumpkin, Wanna be your Sunshine, and We Rock the Green. Then I took out my Essence stampy polishes in Stamp me! White and Stamp me! Black and had fun with my new plate m66 from the Born Pretty Store.
Today is the second Tri-polish challenge day for October. This month’s colours are yellow, green and orange.
And that’s what I did! My first ever needle drag! This is one of those techniques that for some reason, I didn’t think I’d like, so I put off trying it for ages. Now that I’ve tried it, I just might be hooked! It’s amazingly easy and makes some really pretty nail art!
Yayyy, it’s the second last day of the challenge! I just have to get out one last design tonight and I’ll have DONE my first ever nail art challenge 😀
Today’s theme is inspired by a tutorial, and even though there are tons of great tutorials to choose from, there is one I have been waiting to try since the start of the challenge. Adventures in Acetone does great tutorials and she has one for just about every adorable animal under the sun 🙂 (more…)
Today’s nails are inspired by my home country, South Africa’s flag. We have a really great flag with bright and beautiful colours 🙂
I created the flag itself on my thumb (shown upside down here, but that’s just because it’s easier to photograph this way, and I wanted to have the triangle part at the tip of my nail!) and just used the colours on all my other fingers.
