Geometric Nails for day 16 of the 31 Day Challenge

Hi everyone!

I’m a little later with today’s post, but it’s still the 16th! Today’s theme is geometric nails. I decided to go with an old favourite of mine, a combination of tape and texture. Painted Fingertips | Tape and texture for geometric nails - day 16 of the #31DC2014 (more…)

Stripes for Day 12 of the 31 Day Challenge

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme in the 31 Day Challenge is stripes. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for this one so I looked around for some inspiration and soon came across this post by Work Play Polish. I loved how it looked so I decided to try it for myself. Painted Fingertips | Stripes for day 12 of the #31DC2014 (more…)

Tri-Polish Challenge: Dots and swirls

Hi everyone!

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for the Tri-Polish Challenge! This month’s colours are red, blue, and yellow. Last week I started off with a bang with these cute octopus nails. This week I was also inspired by another blogger – I loved these swirly nails by Adventures in Acetone and decided to be a copycat 🙂essence-wanns-be-your-sunshine-essie-lots-of-lux-sally-hansen-sugar-coat-cherry-drop-texture-dots-and-swirls (more…)

Neverending Pile: A Random Untried

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the next installment of the Neverending Pile Challenge. Today’s prompt is simply a random untried. I sort of wish this prompt had come later in the challenge, so I could see what untrieds I still had left over, but I had some fun with this anyway. essence-colour-&-go-grey-t-to-be-here-flowers-tip-top-nail-chic-synergy-essie-pretty-edgy-tribal-colour-11-sinful-colors-black-on-black (more…)

Fancy French

Hi everyone!

Today I have something quite different to my usual designs for you. As far as I can remember, I’ve never shown French nails on my blog. In general, I’m not the biggest fan of them, although I do like them in alternative colours. Today I decided to try an idea I had floating around for a while – French nails made using rhinestones instead of a second colour. rhine 5 (more…)

Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge Day 19: Game Night

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme for the Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge is Game Night. I struggled for a while to think of a good idea for this one, but eventually another mani I’d seen recently surfaced from the back of my mind and I realised it was perfect for this theme. For the life of me, I can’t remember where I saw this, and I couldn’t find it with a quick search because too many similar designs have been done, so please do let me know if you know who did it!

Nail Art A Go-Go Challenge Day 5: Contrast

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme for the Nail Art A Go-Go Challenge hosted by Gnarly Gnails is contrast and I decided to combine contrasting colours with the contrast between a creme and a textured polish. This was also an excuse to get my hands on a textured lemming of mine, Essie’s Lots of Lux!essence-colour-&-go-flashy-pumpkin-essie-dots-of-lux-dotted-dotting-gradient (more…)

31 Day Challenge – Day 23: Inspired by a movie

Hi everyone!

Today I tried some of the most complex nail art I’ve ever done: Finding Nemo nails! They’ve been done before plenty of times, but I knew I wanted to do an animation for my movie-inspired nails, and Finding Nemo was one of my favourite animations ever. Before I show you the pictures, I want you to focus very carefully: Look at my thumb, index finger, middle finger, CLOSE YOUR EYES FOR A MILLISECOND, and look at my pinkie. Seriously, don’t even THINK about looking at my trainwreck of a ring finger! Sadly I didn’t have time to try redo it!
