The Digital Dozen Does Vampy: Roses over a Gradient

Painted Fingertips | Gradient and roses for the Digital Dozen Vampy week

Hi everyone!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a full week since I’ve posted! I intended to post more last week but I’ve been having a particularly crazy time with work, and after the 31 Day Challenge, I just didn’t have a post ready to go. Good news though – I’ll be posting every day this week! And not just any posts, Digital Dozen posts! That’s right, I’m now a member of the Digital Dozen nail art group! If you follow a lot of nail art blogs, you’ve probably heard of the group already. If not, the Digital Dozen is a group of nail bloggers who choose a theme each month and then post 5 nail art looks for the theme during one week, Monday to Friday. The group has been around for 4 years already, with membership changing over time, and I’ve always looked up to the members as fantastic nail artists. I am really excited that I have the opportunity to be in this group now! I think it’ll be a lot of fun and hopefully I’ll create some great nail art to share with you all.

This month’s theme, for my first month with the Digital Dozen, is vampy. (more…)

Holo Gradient Nails

The polishes used in this post were previously provided for review.

Hi everyone!

A while ago on Snapchat I shared a step-by-step for how I do gradient nails. Of course, the result was (as expected) some pretty gradient nails. I used some lovely holos for these so they came out extra-gorgeous!  (more…)

Lovers Gradient: HPB Presents Gradients

Painted Fingertips | Love gradient nails

Hi everyone!

Today I am taking part in a Hobby Polish Bloggers linkup. If you’re also a blogger, it’s a great group to be in to discuss nails and blogging. This month’s theme is gradients.

If you haven’t heard of Piggieluv before, you’re going to thank me for this post. If you’re really into nails, though, you probably have! She is one of my favourite nail artists and does amazing freehand and 3D designs. Today’s look was inspired by this post she did. She created a love story in 5 manis and I chose one of the 5 to repoduce. I went with a different coloured gradient, and somehow my couple ended up looking really short, but overall I like it! Gradients, Glitter, and Striping Tape

Painted Fingertips | Glitter, gradients, and tape

Hi everyone!

For today’s nails I started with a plan of doing geometric nails and it morphed until it became more about gradients than about anything geometric. You’ll have to excuse my slightly poorly lit photos – my lighting setup didn’t move with me so I had to make do. You’ll be seeing a few posts like this but it’ll get better! I already got a couple of lamps although I’m struggling to get my hands on good bulbs.  (more…)

31DC2015 Day 10: Gradient!

Painted Fingertips | Water Marble Gradient for #31DC2014 Day 10 - gradient

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme is gradient, and I finally got around to doing some nails I’ve been meaning to do for ages. For this same prompt last year, Sarah from Chalkboard Nails did some fireflies on a sunset gradient. The look was hugely popular and I loved it too! I have finally done my own version. (more…)

Freehand Flowers

Painted Fingertips | Freehand flowers over a gradient

Hi everyone!

I have really been loving gradients lately and today I have used a gradient again, as a base for some fun freehand nail art. I was inspired by this post on A Little Polish, where Stephanie stamped flowers over a gradient. I did something similar but I changed up the colours and did it freehand. (more…)

Turquoise Gradient

Painted Fingertips | Turquoise gradient

Hi everyone!

Today I have a simple but lovely gradient to share with you. I actually did this gradient to practice one potential option for my wedding nails! I’m getting married next month and I’ve picked everything I need except for what to do on my nails. There are just too many options! (more…)

Golden Glitter Gradient

Painted Fingertips | Golden Glitter gradient

Hi everyone!

Today I have a simple but stunning glitter gradient to share with you. A while ago I received a lovely box from Siobhan at For the Love of Nail Art with some beautiful polishes. One of the polishes she included for me was Wet n Wild The Gold & The Beautiful. I admit, when I first saw the bottle, I didn’t think I’d be crazy about this polish, but the moment I put a coat on my nail I was sold. Just one coat and my nail took on a gorgeous gold-flecked appearance. I decided to combine it with purple to create a gradient fit for a queen 🙂 (more…)

Roses and a Gradient

Painted Fingertips | Gradient with freehand roses inspired by Lucy's Stash

Hi everyone!

Today I have another look inspired by Lucy’s Stash to share with you. She is one of my favourite bloggers, so yes, I find inspiration from her a lot! This time it was a lovely gradient topped with freehand roses that I decided to recreate – with a change or two. (more…)
