I have a simple but lovely look to share with you today. I don’t use nail decals or stencils very often, but I used some here together with two beautiful polishes from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer to create a look that would be perfect for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or really any time.
I’m running a bit behind with this week’s Digital Dozen posts – I’m going to a conference next week and I’ve had a really busy few days preparing for it. The good news is I think I’m ready for the conference, so now I’m going to be playing catchup with some nail art posts for you. For my second ‘inspired by each other’ look, I was inspired by this black and white dotticure done by Druid Nails. Simple but so striking and pretty! (more…)
It’s time for another installment of ‘get to know me’! If you were extra observant, you may have noticed that I didn’t post yesterday. As it happens, I’m having a particularly busy week in my ‘day job’ and I haven’t been able to finish all 5 looks for this week’s theme. I’ll probably be skipping another day as well. Let’s just call it a part of getting to know me!
I’ve dedicated today’s nail art to my beloved cat, Gizmo. Gizmo came into our lives a little over 2 years ago when my husband found him crying and hiding under my car, scared and hungry. He was still a baby, only about 2 and a half months old. Luckily, all he needed was some food and some love. He purred his way into our hearts and has stayed there ever since 🙂 (more…)
It’s time for another #5minutenailart! Are you excited? If you don’t know what this is all about, go take a look at my first post in the series, but the basic premise is that I start with a base of a single colour, your standard manicure, then I have just 5 minutes to turn it into some fun nail art! (more…)
I am excited to share another guest post with you today. This one is from Siobhan of For the Love of Nail Art. Siobhan is a good ‘blogging friend’ of mine and we enjoy sharing our love of nail art (and pictures of our adorable cats!) Today she has come up with something perfect for a cute Valentine’s Day nail look! (more…)
If you’re a follower of my blog, you’ve probably heard about the Facebook Group Hobby Polish Bloggers by now. HPB is a great support group for nail and nail polish bloggers. It’s not about sharing nail pictures, but rather is about discussing, asking for help, and being part of a blogging community. If you’re a blogger too, go check out the group! The past few months, we have been doing a monthly themed linkup for group members. This month’s theme is Valentine’s. Here’s what I came up with: (more…)
Today’s nail art was inspired by a recent Instagram post by @cdbnails143. I was scrolling down my feed when I saw some absolutely beautiful negative space nail art she had done. A lot of negative space art doesn’t appeal to me, but I really liked this one! I have only tried negative space art once before. CDBnails’ original manicure was done with stamping, but since I didn’t have the same stamping plate, I decided to try a freehand version: (more…)
Today’s theme in the Neverending Pile Challenge is a polish you got for free. Last Christmas, my sister bought me a set from Grazia containing 2 polishes and 2 sets of coloured microbeads/’caviar’. I used one of the polishes long ago, but the other remained untried. (more…)
Today’s theme for the neverending pile challenge is jelly polishes. I don’t have a lot of jellies but it just so happens that I picked two up recently. I didn’t even realise they were jellies at the time but now I got to put them to good use! (more…)
