It’s day 4 of the Digital Dozen does paper! Can you believe the week is almost over already? I really feel as though this week as flown by. I have a more detailed freehand look today, inspired by paper planes! This is my recreation of a recent nail art posted by Narmai of Piggieluv, with my own spin of course. Narmai has the most amazing nail art ideas, but it is always a little intimidating trying to recreate them because she is so talented! Even though I think her original look was better, I’m pretty happy with my version.
I decided to try a new-to-me technique today that I’ve seen around in a few places. I made some triangular nail polish decals in different shades of blue and put them together to get some fun geometric-looking nail art.
Today I have another post from the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge and today’s theme is love. I found inspiration from The Awkward Yeti. The Awkward Yeti writes a comic focussing on the interactions between Heart and Brain – for us nail polish addicts, think Heart wants to buy ALL the new collections but Brain knows you need money for food 😉
I searched through the comics looking for one I could turn into nail art – most had too much text but eventually I found this one which was not only adorable, but was also perfect for today’s theme.
I am really excited to share these polishes with you. I have wanted them for a long time and I was finally lucky enough to get 3 of the shades as a late Christmas gift from my niece. When I first started getting into nail polish about 2 years ago, I started following a lot of nail blogs. At this time the boom of textured polishes was just beginning and I was fascinated by the pictures I saw – I had never seen a textured polish before. I was desperate to get my hands on one but just couldn’t seem to find any in-store – either we didn’t have the brands here, or only core lines or older polishes were stocked. One day I saw the LA Girl 3D Holographic polishes and thought because they said ‘3D’ that I might have found some textures. Once I saw they weren’t textures I was disappointed and put them back – I was on a mission and missed these beauties. Before long I regretted it because by the time I went back, they were sold out! I was excited when they were brought back recently but I couldn’t buy them myself – luckily my family listened to my strong hinting and I got the 3 I wanted most! (more…)
By now you might have seen some nail art looks done using nail vinyls. They have become pretty popular for nail art over the past few months as a way to create patterns and do fun and easy nail art. When Loki’s Nail Vinyls asked me to review their product, I jumped at the chance. There are a few different nail vinyl brands out there already, but these are the first I have had the opportunity to try. (more…)
