It’s day 4 of the 31 Day Challenge and today’s theme is green. It just so happens that today I used the same gold acrylic paint that I used just 2 days ago for orange. That was unplanned, I was doing many of these looks in advance and hadn’t realised I ended up using it twice to close together until later.
The polishes used in this post were provided for my honest review.
Today I am excited to share a new collection from Darling Diva Polish with you. This 8-piece collection, called Watch Your Pack, is inspired by the TV show Teen Wolf. I haven’t watched Teen Wolf yet, but considering previous DDP collections include Deadpool, which I liked, and Star Wars, which I love, maybe I should! This collection is releasing this Friday, 22 July, and all polishes are one-pour only, which means when they’re sold out, they’re gone forever. I absolutely love this collection so I’ve taken a lot of pictures (picture heavy post!) and I recently got a macro lens for my phone – if you follow me on Snapchat you may have already seen macros of some of these – so for the first time on Painted Fingertips, I’ll be including macro shots of all polishes as well. Enjoy!
Today I have another #5minutenailart post to share with you! I explained the idea in my first #5minutenailart post, but the basic premise is that I start with a base of a plain, single-colour manicure. I then set a timer for 5 minutes and I have to turn it into some pretty nail art in that time! The idea is that if you have time to do your nails at all, then you have time to do some pretty nail art!
Today I have a swatch of a gorgeous mint polish to share with you. I have used Sinful Colors Mint Apple recently in my #5minutenailart post, and I remembered to snap some pictures of it on its own before adding the nail art.
Today I am starting something new on my blog. There are a few reasons behind this – one is that I often don’t find much time to do my nails during the semester. I made time to do some more detailed nail art over the break which I’ll be sharing with you over the next few weeks, but now that I’m back in class, I might only have a few minutes here and there to spare. Another reason is that people will often see my nails and comment that they don’t have time to do something like that – now I know some might actually mean that they couldn’t be bothered to do nail art, but some really think that any nail art must take forever, just because they haven’t tried it before or aren’t sure how it’s done. So this is for those people who might really want to try some nail art but not spend hours on it! I’m here to prove that all it has to take is 5 minutes to have amazing nails.
The rules are as follows: start with a normal, single-colour manicure. Yes, it takes more than 5 minutes to do the colour PLUS nail art, but now if you have time to paint your nails – you have time for art. You could also do the colour one day and add the art the next day – I often do that when I’m pressed for time! Then, starting from that base colour, I have just 5 minutes to do some nail art. I put a timer on so I make sure it really is 5 minutes. 5 minutes isn’t long so to give myself a little leniency, I’ll count anything that is still UNDER 6 minutes as close enough – but this includes the final top coat and the nail art is good to go.
Today’s nail art was one of the first nail looks I did after moving to the US. My husband wasn’t here yet and I spent an evening doing this delicate freehand. Originally I intended to add this to the 31 Day Challenge as my delicate print, but I just didn’t get a chance for photo editing and posting amidst all the craziness. Not to worry, now we have some pretty nails to look at today instead! (more…)
Today I have another manicure for the weekly nail art challenge I am participating in on Instagram this month. The theme for today is mint and lilac so I’m expecting to see lots of lovely delicate manicures! (more…)
