Sheep Nails | The Digital Dozen Does White

Painted Fingertips | Sheep Nail Art - The Digital Dozen does White

Hi everyone!

It’s Digital Dozen week! This week’s theme is white. At first I didn’t like this theme at all – I was thinking that I’d have to do predominantly white, bridal-looking manicures all week. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but those types of looks just aren’t my usual style. Even for my own wedding, I wore turquoise nail polish! That made me dread the idea of an all-white week. That was until I had the idea to do nail art based on things that are white, rather than just making white the dominant colour. This meant that I could use plenty of colours, and I had fun coming up with things that are white! (more…)

Moonflower Polish | Summer Neons

Hi everyone!

Summer is in full swing in the northern hemisphere, and with it, lots of bright neons! While I wear whatever polish I feel like in all seasons, there’s something summery about bright shades. Moonflower Polish has come out with a set of 8 bright shimmery neons that can be used for stamping or worn on their own. Today I have 4 of the 8 to share with you. This is a picture-heavy post since I have pictures of each polish on its own, over black and white, and stamped in a nail art look that shows one way I’d personally wear these, so get ready for lots of photos and enjoy 🙂 (more…)

Moonflower Polish Spring Collection Swatches

Painted Fingertips | Moonflower Polish Amapola swatch

The polish in this post was provided by the maker for my honest review.

Hi everyone!

Remember the stamping I showed you last week using the Moonflower Polish Spring collection? Well, the 4 polishes from this collection can also be worn as regular polish and they are all gorgeous on their own! In fact, wearing these as regular polish allows you to see a lot more of the lovely shift these have. The set is described as iridescent duochromy holos in a jelly base. Don’t let the ‘jelly base’ part scare you – keep in mind these can even stamp effectively, so they are nice and opaque. Each polish also has an iridescent flakie that shifts in the same coordinating colour. These will also look amazing if used together in nail art! I can see a stained glass type look being done with them.

I’ll start off with my favourite from the set, Moonflower Polish Tortuga. (more…)

Hi everyone!

I know, I know, I’m so late with this post! But here it is at last, my fifth and final post for last week’s Digital Dozen stamping theme. For this theme, I needed to combine the prompt with a few stamping plate and polish reviews I needed to get done. So far, I shared reviews of 3 plates from Beauty Big Bang – plate BeautyBigBang10, plate BeautyBigBang09, and plate BeautyBigBang07. I also shared my review on how the Moonflower Polish Spring collection performs for stamping. Today I’m back with another review, this time for Born Pretty Store plate Valentine’s Day BP-L001. The Digital Dozen Does Stamping | Moonflower Spring 2018 Collection

Hi everyone!

I’m back with my third post for the Digital Dozen does stamping week! And yes, I’m already a day late on this one. Ugh! I intended to get so much done this week but whatever germ I caught has really taken me out. I’m starting to feel a little better but a couple of days in bed didn’t help for getting anything done on time.

For today’s stamping post, I have a review of 4 new polishes from Moonflower! These can be used as regular polishes or for stamping, and of course today I am showing you how they perform as stampers. Nadia describes these as iridescent duochromey holos with coordinating microflakies, and yes, they are as pretty as they sound! I have 2 looks with each of these 4 polishes so be sure to check out the full post! (more…)

Moonflower Polish | Vampy Cremes Swatches

Hi everyone!

Remember the amazing vampy stamping polishes from Moonflower I showed you the other day? Well, it turns out they can do more than just stamp. Today I have swatches of the 5 vampy cremes on their own as regular polish and they are amazing like this too! Before I even start showing you the pictures, I need to let you know that I used only ONE COAT for each of these 5 polishes. They are incredibly pigmented and while force of habit – plus wanting to make sure I didn’t miss any spots due to poor application skills – generally makes me want to use 2 coats for any polish, these really, truly only need one. Let’s take a look at these beauties! (more…)

The Digital Dozen Does Mythical Creatures | Basilisk

Painted Fingertips | Basilisk Nails - The Digital Dozen Does Mythical Creatures

Hi everyone!

I managed to get my final look done for the Digital Dozen’s mythical creatures week, just one day late. Phew! So far this week, I’ve shared nail art looks inspired by dragons, fairies, phoenix, and unicorns. I had so much fun with this week’s theme, and honestly I think it’s been one of my best Digital Dozen weeks! The only look I didn’t absolutely LOVE was my unicorn one.

For today’s look, I needed to get something done in a hurry after my giant Moonflower stamping polish post set me a day behind. I looked through the pictures from the other Digital Dozen members this week and this basilisk look by Manis & Makeovers really stood out to me. My look turned out quite different from hers, but she definitely inspired me. (more…)

Moonflower Polish | Vampy Cremes Stamping

Painted Fingertips | Moonflower Polish Vampy Cremes stamping - Dark Green

Some items in this post were provided for honest review.

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to share this post with you! A short while ago, Nadia of Moonflower Polish approached me and asked me if I could showcase a few of her polishes on my blog. Of course I leapt at the opportunity! Most polishes made by Moonflower are intended as stamping polish, so of course they are perfect for me with all of the nail art I do. In fact, just the other day I was thinking that I needed something fresh in my stamping repertoire and purchased a few new plates. These stamping polishes were perfect to add to that and I think you will like them too!

Today I have 5 brand new Moonflower polishes to share, the Vampy Cremes. These are releasing tomorrow morning, 23 February, at 9 am EST on the Moonflower Polish site. They are all dark creme bases with complementary colour shifting shimmers. They will be priced at $8 for a 15 ml bottle, or $38 for the set of 5. They are also available in mini bottles at $5 each or $23 for the set of 5. Do note that since these are highly pigmented, they may cause staining of nails, skin, or stampers; however I personally have not had any issues with staining while using these as stamping polishes.

I have tested each of these stamping polishes over both a light and a dark colour, so there are no less than 10 stamped looks to follow! It is a long, picture-heavy post, but worth it. Keep on scrolling to see how amazing each of the stamping polishes looks! (more…)
