Hi everyone!

Today’s theme for the Neverending Pile Challenge is to use as many untried polishes in one mani as possible. I managed to use no less than ten untried polishes. That’s right, ten! I originally intended this for the Gold prompt, but I decided to move it up to today instead. (more…)

Silver and blue skittlette

Hi everyone!

Guess what? This is my 100th blog post! I didn’t realise until I started typing this up so I didn’t do anything specific for it, but I do love today’s nails πŸ˜€ You probably know by now that I love silver and blue together so I decided to use them for a fun skittlette combining stamping, glitter and texture. sally-hansen-pacific-blue-tip-top-nail-chic-armourplate-rocky-road-glitter-opi-liquid-sand-it's-frosty-outside-kiss-me-at-midnight-stamped-moyou-sailor-collection--3 (more…)

Autumny Water Marble

Hi everyone!

In case you’re wondering why I would do an autumny mani when here in South Africa it’s summer, well, I didn’t plan it that way! I just picked out some colours I thought would go well together and only once I was finished did I realise they were a pretty autumny combination πŸ™‚ So for those of you in the Northern hemisphere – enjoy this as an end-of-autumn water marble!water-marble-lava-baker-street-beach-babe-1 (more…)

Tape Mani Monday

Hi everyone!

It’s no secret that I love textured polishes. I also love using striping tape since it has endless possibilities… Today I got to use them both! I also have some exciting news at the end of the post πŸ™‚

31 Day Challenge – Day 30: Inspired by a tutorial

Hi everyone!

Yayyy, it’s the second last day of the challenge! I just have to get out one last design tonight and I’ll have DONE my first ever nail art challenge πŸ˜€

Today’s theme is inspired by a tutorial, and even though there are tons of great tutorials to choose from, there is one I have been waiting to try since the start of the challenge. Adventures in Acetone does great tutorials and she has one for just about every adorable animal under the sun πŸ™‚animals (more…)

31 Day Challenge – Day 28: Inspired by a flag

Hi guys!

Today’s nails are inspired by my home country, South Africa’s flag. We have a really great flag with bright and beautiful colours πŸ™‚

flag1I created the flag itself on my thumb (shown upside down here, but that’s just because it’s easier to photograph this way, and I wanted to have the triangle part at the tip of my nail!) and just used the colours on all my other fingers.

31 Day Challenge – Day 27: Artwork

Hi everyone!

Nails inspired by an artwork opens up a world of opportunity for very complex and beautiful nail art. Unfortunately, while I am enjoying this challenge, posting to a specific theme every day takes a lot of time and I had to pick something that would be quick to do last-minute on my nails! Luckily I found a pretty cool artwork to use πŸ™‚

artwork1I paged through an art book I have, World Art: the essential illustrated history, and came upon Jazz (1947), a painting by Henri Matisse. I immediately new it was the best choice for today! Here’s how the painting looks (Sorry for the light shining off the glossy page!)
