Remember Supermoon Party Monarch, the polish I swatched earlier this week? It’s available right now on the Polish Pickup site! Today I have some nail art to share with you featuring this pretty polish. I really liked the inspiration image behind this polish – so bright and vibrant! So, I decided to add a little nail art that was inspired by the same image.
The polish in this post was provided for my honest review.
By now you’ve probably heard of Polish Pickup – I’ve shared a couple of swatches from previous Polish Pickup themes. If not, it’s a monthly group theme with an ever-increasing number of makers joining in to each create a single polish to fit the theme. December’s theme is ‘Holidays around the world’ and each maker interprets this and finds whatever inspiration they would like to create their polish. All of the polishes for the month are then available on the Polish Pickup site – this round’s polishes can be purchased from 1 December to 4 December. It’s a great way to get to try a variety of brands and all of the polishes that are being created are stunning! To make the whole process more interactive, you can also vote on what themes you would like to see in coming months. More details are available in the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook group.
I have definitely mentioned a few times by now that The Howling Boutique’s Supermoon Lacquer is one of my favourite nail polish brands. Today I have swatches to share with you of 5 polishes from their original Ready to Launch collection, which came out over a year ago now. Although one of these shades has already been retired, the other four are still available and will be restocked later this week for the brand’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. In addition, all of these polishes will be 30% off for the sale! You can join the brand’s Facebook group for more details and announcements. For now, let’s take a look at the pretty polishes!
One of the things I was thinking about with this week’s Futuristic theme was: how will people do their nails in the future? There was a time when red or neutral nail polish was about all you’d see; half moons were huge in the 30s, and the French manicure was all the rage in the 80s – and in some circles, it’s still all the rage. These days, you can get any and every colour, and a lot more nail art is being done – although most people still tend to go for a plain colour.
In the future, I figured, maybe a metallic chrome finish will be all the rage. And, as fashions tend to do, maybe the half moon fashion will come around again, just with a bit of a twist! This is what I came up with:
Have you heard about Polish Pickup yet? If you’ve been paying attention to my blog, you have – I swatched a couple of Northern Star Polish contributions to Polish Pickup in the past. This was an idea that was started a few months ago to get various polish makers together, each creating their own polish to fit a certain theme. Each month there is a new theme and all of the polishes created for that theme are available together on one site during a brief pre-order. It is a great way to try out a variety of brands!
I made my first Polish Pickup purchase during the month of October. The theme was Monsters & Mythical creatures and there were a couple of polishes I just couldn’t pass up! Today I have one of those I purchased to share with you – Supermoon Lacquer The Hound of Hades.

Today I have a new stamping polish from Born Pretty Store to share with you. As you probably are aware by now, I really like this line of stamping polishes from them, and they keep extending the colour lineup. I really love having so many different colours of realiable stamping polishes – it definitely beats the days I only had black and white! So with that in mind, here is Born Pretty Store stamping polish #95.
It’s day 4 of the Digital Dozen’s Throwback theme and today I am sharing my version of these dragon nails shared by Cathy of More Nail Polish back in continents week. I love dragons and I love Cathy’s nail art, so it was perfect!
I know it’s only July, but I have some Halloween nail art for you today! I have two nail art looks using Born Pretty Store plate BP-L057, which has some perfect Halloween images. I wanted to share it with you now so that you have time to order it and get it in time for Halloween!
I got this plate using my Born Pretty Store points. Did you know that they have a point system? You can upload pictures of nail art using their products and earn points, which you can use to purchase more products from their store.

It has been so hot and humid the past couple of days here – something I never thought I’d be saying about Minnesota before I moved here! It looks like it might rain today so I’m hoping it’ll cool down just a little.
Today I have a review of another Born Pretty Store stamping plate, plate BP-L052, to share with you. Before I start showing you any of the nail art (and let me tell you right now that both looks I did are pretty great and you should at least look at this whole post!), a note about the plate itself. When I received this plate, several of the images were different than those shown on the site. Here is my photograph of the plate (excuse the reflections):
And, the plate as advertised on the site: Some of the images seem to just appear in a different order, while others are completely different. The plate still has a similar vibe and either version is beautiful, but do be aware of this before purchasing this plate. Now for the two stamped nail art looks I’ve created using this plate!
