Lemon & Cherry

Hi everyone!

There is a weekly nail art challenge run by some ladies on Instagram that I’ve been meaning to participate in for ages. This month I finally decided to give it a shot. No guarantees that I’ll make it through all of the themes for the month as I have a busy month ahead, but I’ll see what I can do.

The first theme was Lemon & Cherry. This was meant as in the colours lemon and cherry but I decided to take it more literally with actual lemons and cherry blossoms. (more…)

Water Marble Wednesday: Mixed Patterns

Painted Fingertips | Mixed patterns water marble

Hi everyone!

It’s Water Marble Wednesday! When I was planning this marble, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to do stripes or petals for the marble pattern, so in the end I decided to do both. I really liked how the two patterns looked together, and the brightness of the colours I used. (more…)

Review: BPS Zigzag Nail Guides

Painted Fingertips | Zigzag nails using BPS guides

Some items in this post have been provided for review.

Hi everyone!

Nail vinyls and stencils have been all the rage lately with different companies creating every imaginable pattern and different people using them in even more ways. The pattern that I’ve always been the most keen to try is zigzags. Luckily, I got the chance to try some when I was sent a sample from Born Pretty Store. They are called French Manicure Wave Edge Tip Guides and come in two similar versions – one is slightly narrower with thinner chevrons than the other (I think I have the narrower version). (more…)

Swirly Nimbus

Painted Fingertips | Swirly nimbus

Hi everyone!

I was struggling to think of a good idea for some nail art so I decided to turn to my Pinterest inspiration board and found this fun nimbus look topped with stamped swirls by Globe & Nail. I decided I’d do something similar but I wanted to freehand the swirls rather than stamping them. The thicker lines resulted in quite a different look but I like it!  (more…)

Water Marble Wednesday: Valentine’s Day

Painted Fingertips | Valentine's Day Water Marble

Hi everyone!

I know, I know, it’s already Thrusday, but this post was SUPPOSED to be ready yesterday. I’ve gotten really behind on blogging ever since I added the sweetest little kitten to my family a couple of weeks ago (I posted some pictures on Instagram, in case you’re curious). He has so much energy and playing with him has been taking up a lot of my nail time!

Today I have tried to create a heart water marble for Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately it didn’t come out quite as I was hoping, but let me show you anyway: (more…)

Mottled Pink and Turquoise Nails

Hi everyone!

Today I have some super simple nails to share with you. These nails were originally meant as the base for some stamping, but my stamping was just a disaster. I have been struggling with stamping lately and on this day it just wouldn’t work for me. Luckily I took pictures before I started stamping and the base still makes for a very pretty manicure. (more…)

Water Marble Wednesday: Water Lilies

Hi everyone!

It’s Water Marble Wednesday and today I was inspired by this water lily nail art by Adventures in Acetone. Jacki created a watery background with a needle drag and added the lilies on top. I immediately thought I’d be able to create the same look using a water marble! (more…)

Spring Time Nails!

Hi everyone!

I have been loving the warmer weather lately so I decided to celebrate the change of season with some nail art! Coewless did this spring nail art months ago – back when it was autumn here – and I was just waiting for my chance to recreate it! (more…)

Water Marble for day 20 of the 31 Day Challenge

Hi everyone!

I’ve made it to day 20! Two thirds of the challenge are over and after today, only the challenging ‘inspired by’ section is left. Today is not Wednesday, but you get to see a water marble anyway 🙂 (more…)

Galaxies for day 19 of the #31DC2014

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme in the 31 Day Challenge is galaxy nails. I’ve never had much success with galaxy nails and today just confirmed that – galaxy nails are definitely not my thing. I tried two different looks for today and I just don’t love either one. (more…)
