The Digital Dozen Does Decades – 90s Grunge

Hi everyone!

It’s day 2 of the Digital Dozen Decades theme and today I’ve jumped ahead to the 90s. This was a time of rock music, leather, and too much eyeliner. I decided on a distressed look with a splash of colour and some stamping: Painted Fingertips | The Digital Dozen Does Decades - 90s Grunge

Pink and Iridescent Festival Nail Art

Hi everyone!

If you’re around here much, you probably know that I don’t feel the urge to have pink nails all that often. When pink does make an appearance, it’s usually a smaller part within some nail art. But one day recently, I had the urge to go not just pink, but pink with an added iridescent topper. Meanwhile I was wondering what to do for today’s Crumpets Nail Tarts theme of festivals/hippie travels. Once I had the photos done of these nails I realised that they could probably do for the festival theme. Painted Fingertips | Pink and iridescent nail art

Lovers Gradient: HPB Presents Gradients

Hi everyone!

Today I am taking part in a Hobby Polish Bloggers linkup. If you’re also a blogger, it’s a great group to be in to discuss nails and blogging. This month’s theme is gradients.

If you haven’t heard of Piggieluv before, you’re going to thank me for this post. If you’re really into nails, though, you probably have! She is one of my favourite nail artists and does amazing freehand and 3D designs. Today’s look was inspired by this post she did. She created a love story in 5 manis and I chose one of the 5 to repoduce. I went with a different coloured gradient, and somehow my couple ended up looking really short, but overall I like it! Lemon & Cherry

Hi everyone!

There is a weekly nail art challenge run by some ladies on Instagram that I’ve been meaning to participate in for ages. This month I finally decided to give it a shot. No guarantees that I’ll make it through all of the themes for the month as I have a busy month ahead, but I’ll see what I can do.

The first theme was Lemon & Cherry. This was meant as in the colours lemon and cherry but I decided to take it more literally with actual lemons and cherry blossoms. lemon-and-cherry (more…)

Water Marble Wednesday: Mixed Patterns

Hi everyone!

It’s Water Marble Wednesday! When I was planning this marble, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to do stripes or petals for the marble pattern, so in the end I decided to do both. I really liked how the two patterns looked together, and the brightness of the colours I used. Painted Fingertips | Mixed patterns water marble (more…)

Review: BPS Zigzag Nail Guides

Some items in this post have been provided for review.

Hi everyone!

Nail vinyls and stencils have been all the rage lately with different companies creating every imaginable pattern and different people using them in even more ways. The pattern that I’ve always been the most keen to try is zigzags. Luckily, I got the chance to try some when I was sent a sample from Born Pretty Store. They are called French Manicure Wave Edge Tip Guides and come in two similar versions – one is slightly narrower with thinner chevrons than the other (I think I have the narrower version). Water Marble Wednesday: Water Lilies

Hi everyone!

It’s Water Marble Wednesday and today I was inspired by this water lily nail art by Adventures in Acetone. Jacki created a watery background with a needle drag and added the lilies on top. I immediately thought I’d be able to create the same look using a water marble! Painted Fingertips | watery blue water marble (more…)

Tri-Polish Challenge September: Day 4

Hello again!

Today is the fourth and final Tri-Polish day for the month. Today, my nails were inspired by these gorgeous flowers created by Sincerely Stephanie. I’ve had her picture saved for weeks just waiting for a chance to recreate it! Of course, mine doesn’t look nearly as beautiful as hers did, but I still loved having this on my nails.

flowers2My three polishes for this month’s challenge were Tip Top Nail Chic – Pot-O-Berries and Blue Meets Green, and Essence Colour & Go Absolutely Blue. I also used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out and White On.
