#5minutenailart: Polka dots

Hi everyone!

I had a rough start to the week when I woke up Monday morning with some pretty bad abdominal pain. I ended up going to the hospital and after being examined by several doctors, having blood tests and a CT scan they confirmed it was appendicitis. If you’ve ever been in the hospital for something like this, you’ll know there is a lot of waiting involved! I was well taken care of though and I wound up in surgery late Monday night. Luckily an appendectomy is pretty much the most routine surgery there is, so I wasn’t too worried – just glad I could get better. I’m back home now and just feeling weak and tired and I can’t concentrate for long.

Fortunately, I had a bunch of posts lined up that I just had to write up – so at least I can blog! Today I have another 5 minute nail art post lined up for you. I covered it all in my first #5minutenailart post, but basically I start with a plain base colour and have just 5 minutes to turn it into art. Painted Fingertips | 5 minute nail art: polka dots

Bright and Bold Sugarspun Nails

Hi everyone!

I have some fun nails to share with you today using a technique I’ve only used twice before: Sugarspun nails! In the past I used this technique to create spiderwebs and in an embarrassing early blog post. Today I have gone with the combination of black and bright colours to create a bold look. Painted Fingertips | Sugarspun nail art

Water Marble Wednesday: Pink and Purple

Hi everyone!

You might remember how excited I was a couple of weeks ago to find out how well the Tip Top neons marbled. I was determined to try them again and today I have. I actually didn’t use the same polishes as last time, but used a different bright pink and purple from Tip Top to see if they would work as well. Painted Fingertips | Pink and purple water marble

Swatch and comparison: my 5 brightest pinks

Hi everyone!

With the weather warming up lately, I felt like putting something bright on my nails. I decided to go with pink, and I have done a comparison for you of my 5 brightest pinks so we can see which is the brightest of them all!

80s Distressed Nails

Hi everyone!

I decided to play with my squishy stamper a bit more to create some 80s-themed nails. Since the 80s were all about bright colours I decided to start with a brightly-coloured distressed effect.

Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge Day 15: Round & Square

Hi everyone!

We’ve reached the third week of the Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge hosted by Gnarly Gnails and things are really starting to get tough. I am still completely stuck on a few of this weeks prompts, and I’m running out of time! That is half the fun of doing a challenge like this though – it gives you the opportunity to think of some new nail art ideas and maybe try some new techniques. That’s exactly what I’ve done today – I tried making stamping decals for the first time! I’ve seen so many beautiful stamping decals lately that I knew I had to try it for myself. stamping-decals-moyou-artist-collection-03-moyou-pro-collection-10-m65-bm-322-tip-top-nail-chic-sitting-pretty-essence-colour-&-go-break-through-sinful-colors-rise-and-shine-nails-inc-baker-street-sinful-colors-savage (more…)
